Advantages: Simple, elegant combat, great story, great characters
Disadvantages: ally AI is a little weak
Kingdom Hearts is a game within which the realm of Final Fantasy and Disney collide. But I don't have to tell you this, you already know. How can you NOT know?!
Seriously.
So i'm not going to bother you with the basic premise, but let's focus more so on the story.
The story for this game is spectacular! Truly you get to connect and fawn over the characters as they make their way through the journey of their lives. It is a story that can be appreciated by both the older players and younger players alike!
In fact I played this game with my younger sister and we both loved it! She passed me the controller when a boss came around, but even those I was able to coax her to try. What's the point of that text I just wrote? The fact the game held enough story appeal to keep both me and my younger sister *of about 7 years* entertained and we both managed to keep at it until the very end!
The combat system is rather simple, all real time with no complicated turn based system of any kind. You see a blurb of enemy, you swipe at blurb of enemy, you get lil orbs of moneyz!
The levels of the maps are also not too difficult! Both me and her hate to reach to a walkthrough and though we came close on some parts, we were able to find a way through. The levels in this regard were not too complicated but still presented a challenge!
The only flaw is the AI of your comrades in arms! Especially Goofy. There was a poster I saw online once over at somethingawful.com which said, and I quote
"For god's sake Goofy, DO SOMETHING!"
It's not that he doesn't do anything, but he doesn't do anything good. That is, until the end. By then he was pumped with mad health and mad mana and that Goofy was laying out the hurt like nobodies business!
The bosses are all fun and interesting to combat, each faced with a unique angle so you're not fighting them in the same way, but for longer periods of time like some games might have you do.
It really was an experience neither me or her would ever forget!
Summary: If you're not a gamer who turns angry at a sincere and heartfelt story, this is one you must play!
