Unless you have been on a pilgrimage to Mars for the last 7 years, I'm sure anyone reading this will know who Lara Croft is. Ever keen to stretch the Tomb Raider marketing franchise that bit further, Eidos Interactive and Core Design have teamed up once again to bring us Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness, Miss Croft's 6th adventure so far. Not only is there a new storyline, but also our intrepid explorer finds herself this time in totally new surroundings - the Playstation 2! Before I continue I must point out that I have not played every game so far in the tomb raider series so if I am wrong in saying that this game has a new feature when ... Read the complete review

On it's release in November 1996, Tomb Raider was the ultimate Playstation game. The first successful game to combine action, platforming and puzzling, it was responsible for selling a huge number of the consoles and introduced the world to one of the most recognisable and popular video game characters ever, Lara Croft. For the next few years every Christmas meant a new Tomb Raider game from developers Core but despite new features for each instalment the constant rush to meet the Christmas deadline seemed to reduce the innovations in each new episode and by the time the fifth entry in the series, entitled Tomb Raider : Chronicles, arrived the series was ... When I first heard about Angel of Darkness I thought that it would be a title that will resurrect the tired Lara Croft and allow her to go back to the very top as most favourite hero of a game. The movie was about to be out on June and Angel of Darkness to follow but it didn?t happened. The new Tomb Raider came out after the movie and disappointed everyone really. Lara Croft was known for her physical abilities and her body maybe, but not for her character. In Angel of Darkness though lot of emphasis have been placed on the promotion of her character. You come to know her more which very nice!? The Scenario After many years of doing nothing, ... Read the complete review

The Angel of Darkness has everything you would expect from a Tomb Raider game. Fantastic in-game graphics and cut scenes, a gripping story and beautiful locations including Paris and Prague. However despite all these characteristics Tomb Raider lacks and tombs! Accused of the murder of her mentor and running from authorities instead of wild animals and monsters the game brings Lara Croft into unfamiliar territiory and this might have been a welcome change if not for the terrible flaws in both the controls and camera. The beginning of the game serves as a tutorial to guide users into the new control system however all it does is make its many flaws ... Read the complete review

In the sixth part of the Tomb Raider series, we see our heroin Lara Croft being framed for the murder of her ex-mentor, Werner Von Croy. The only thing is, we as the player don't know whodunit either. Was it Lara? Afterall, the last time we saw Von Croy, he had been trying to trap Lara in a tomb in Egypt. Somehow, she escaped, as did Von Croy. But would the history these two characters share be terrible enough for Lara to pull the trigger? Gone are the mystical locations us Tomb Radier fans are used to. Get prepare for a whole new Tomb Raider experience, as Lara Croft hits the PS2 for the first time. Although the graphics are amazing, and we're thrown straight ... Read the complete review
