INTRO Anyone who has ever watched a football match has believed they could do a much better job than the referee, the players or the manager. We’ve all heard people criticising a decision, a team tactic or the choice of players. But how many of us actually get the chance to do these jobs? Very few, usually. Well, now the opportunity is here in the form of a Playstation game – LMA Manager. Anyone now has the chance to pick the teams, buy and sell players, decide on the vital team tactics and make the financial decisions. Then you can sit back and watch the matches to see how successful your team have been. Will they win, draw or lose? Will ... Read the complete review

Premier Manager used to be the serious choice for any management fan; days were spent for hours trying to get Division 3 teams up to Premiership Champions. Gremlin's Premier Manager sold a lot of copies, and justifiably so. As time progressed Championship Manager from Eidos began to come onto the scene and arguably surpassing Premier Manager. The latest Championship Manager (which can be found on both PC and X Box) is one of the best management games of all time, and perhaps the best ever. There was however a series of little gems on the PSONE in the form of Codemaster's LMA Manager, the franchise seemingly disappeared for a while as the PS2 came into play and ... I bought this game on a whim on Friday and took it back for a refund the following Sunday. So I didn't like it and I'm not going to recommend it. If you want to know why not, read on. Championship Manager (CM) is the football management game I'm used to playing and LMA Manager (LMAM) just didn't match up to it. Compared to CM, LMAM felt shallow, trivial and awkward. Maybe I'm too familiar with CM or maybe I didn't give LMAM a chance, but then again, how many hours do you have to play a game for before you can judge it? I gave LMAM at least four hours and I was left unsatisfied. For me there is still only one football management game worth ... Read the complete review

I should start by saying that i am not a championship manager geek - although i have played it, it too left me a bit cold. however, i am a massive football fan, a season ticket holder, and i know my football. the reson i bought this game was because i have played other footy management games on the the P.C (by E.A) and i owned LMA 2000. Now when i played this earlier version of the game it took me a good while to get into it, but eventually i did and agreed with the many good reviews it recieved. O.K, some of the player ratings were quite a way off the mark, indicating somewhat of a lack of knowledge of players outside the ... Read the complete review

Let me start by saying that if you're just not normally interested in this type of game whatsoever, then save yourself a few minutes and go and read something else! This game is fabulous, but it's unlikely to convert you if you're just not into this sort of thing! Right, now we've only got readers who enjoy this type of game or who think they might enjoy this type of game, let's go on. LMA Manager 2002 for the PS2 follows on Codemasters' excellent tradition of bringing out top quality games that are just that little bit different or little bit more special than similar titles. LMA02 succeeds the same series that has produced three ... Read the complete review
