NFL isn’t just a game; it’s a whole culture. An American coulture and one that is lost on us over here. At last EA sports has got the processing power to transform, it’s longest running franchise from 32 bit into a dazzling and user friendly game that absolutely ANYONE can play. An intro sequence featuring real-life gridiron footage and the main man Madden start off the game. From here on in, you’d be forgiven for mistaking it for the real thing; so amazingly realistic are the graphics. The first thing that you notice about this game is the superb quality of the graphics and the high quality of overall presentation. Whilst not being the most important factor in creating a videogame they help to create a believable and immersive environment which serves to enhance the overall experience. You can really feel the power when two players crash into each other at full speed. Animation is superb at all times, even when the action gets hectic. There are slight gripes with the presentation - there are extremely rare graphical glitches when players move through each other between plays, players do not show a great deal of facial expression and commentary ...

Madden NFL 2001 has seriously converted me! The graphics on the ps2 are astoundingly good. You see all the reflections and everything on the player’s helmets. It’s very detailed indeed. I have played this a lot around my friend’s house. I can't comment so much on the 1player aspect as that would be lying as I we haven't played it that much in one player (why would we when we play 4player!). This game HAS to be on of the truly great 4 player games out there. In my opinion MOST if not ALL 4-player games get to a level of playability that most games never achieve.
