'Marc Ecko's Getting Up' is the first game which brings Hip Hop culture to the adventure genre. When I first looked at this game, I actually thought this was like 25 to Life. Gangstas, killings, shootouts etc. as well as graffiti (as Getting Up means getting your name on the wall) so I thought it was going to be just as generic as 25 to Life. but I still decided to buy this. Boy, I was so freaking wrong. This is not about gangstas, gang warfare and other stuff like that-this is about a revolution! Written and directed by fashion designer Marc Ecko, Getting Up combines elements from games like Prince of Persia and Final Fight.
