'Marc Ecko's Getting Up' is the first game which brings Hip Hop culture to the adventure genre. This game also includes a great deal of stealth as you attempt to put together the largest and most creative graffiti throwups without being noticed in a cuty under strct regulations. Voiced by Talib Kweli, you play as Trane, a rebel in New Radius -where nobody is entitled to freedom. He needs to escape and he wants to do it in the olny wasy he knows is possible, to GET UP and GET OUT. You control this character in his attempts to go against the system . When I first looked at this game, I actually thought this was like 25 to Life. Gangstas, killings, shootouts etc. as well as graffiti (as Getting Up means getting your name on the wall) so I thought it was going to be just as generic as 25 to Life. but I still decided to buy this. Boy, I was so freaking wrong. This is not about gangstas, gang warfare and other stuff like that-this is about a revolution! Written and directed by fashion designer Marc Ecko, Getting Up combines elements from games like Prince of Persia and Final Fight.
