Advantages: Great story, loads of customisation options, camoflauge suits

Disadvantages: Slow, hard and very, very green!

Metal Gear Solid 3 is the best in the series to date. Forget the soliton radar, it doesn't exist. This game is set in the 1960's. That means that nanomachines, radar and hi tech mechs are out and chunky and unrelyable thermal goggles are in.

This game evokes memories of the original Metal Gear series, especially if you play it on Hard difficulty. It is no longer a case of infiltrating buildings, you must infiltrate jungles and swamps getting past the soviet troops who have infinate ammo and very big machine guns.

But you have lots of camoflauge suits and can collect more throughout the gam as well as weapons and equipment.

Another new feature in this game is the cure menu, which is uses for treating injuries. Being slashed by an enemy with a knife can leave you with a massive cut which will bleed. Being shot with a shoutgun will now leave bullets in you, and a whole host of other lovely little injuries.

Food is now an active part of the game, with the amount of animals on screen just waiting to be eaten, but be warned, they can go off and give you food poisoning.

The plot is as tight as ever with Naked Snake infiltrating russian territory to assassinate Colnel Volgin and The Boss as well as other characters.

This game is truly better than MGS2 and even veterans of Metal Gear Solid 1 will struggle with this title. But the hardship is worth it.

Summary: This game is great!

I still prefer the first two games to this.
