It seems as though there have been a never ending supply of Mortal Kombat games on all of the gaming platforms yet amazingly the franchise still manages to churn out success after success and Mortal Kombat Armageddon is no different. The format of the game hardly changes, at its most basic it is still a one on one fighting game and with this version the only new innovation is the ability to create your own fighter and to also personalise the attack moves of your fighter which to be honest is only entertaining for a few minutes and in my opinion does not add much to the quality of the game. The seventh game in the Mortal Kombat game series, Armageddon is similar to many of its predecessors. The game has many of the same options and characters as the other games and has over sixty different characters to choose from, most of them have been in previous games but there is two new characters to the game Daegon and Taven. As well as the option to create your own character, moves abilities and what they look like and the option to create your own finishing moves in the create a fatality option. You can play the game either single player or up to eight players online, the main part of the game is the story mode which the actually stories are not that ... Read the complete review

Mortal Kombat armageddon - the best mortal Kombat ever!!! I have always been a fan of the mortal kombat series - I prefer this to street fighter which I used to prefer but MK is more realistic, SF is a bit cartoony and childish in comparison now. There's loads to the game - 60 odd characters, the chance to create your own, Konquest mode, motor kombat, kombat online (if you're brave), lots to unlock from the crypt. And obviously the finishing moves which are now much easier to pull off than they were in previous versions - in MK2, MK3 and MKT (trilogy) they made them a bit complicated and hit and miss whether you actually managed to pull them ... This is another in the long line of games that were first ignited when I was but a young gamer, The Mortal Kombat series in the mid 90s went head to head with Streetfighter, though in many peoples eyes it never toppled the Capcom super hit. But it did provide some excellent games along the way. One of the things I like about Mortal Kombat is that it's much more gritty than Streetfighter, I always felt there was something very cartoonish about Eddy Honda and Chun Li etc where as there was a venom about Sub Zero and Raiden. It was definitely the more brutal of the two games. After the experiment of Shaolin Monks which was more a free roaming beat em ... Read the complete review
