MTV Music Generator (PS2)

I really Enjoy this game. If you take the time you can create great sounds. The vocals suck but they have attachments that can make your sounds unique. It is more of a program then a game. It might take 3 hours to make a 2 minute song. The game is time consuming and addictive. I love it cause I suck at the guitar but I am great at putting music together so now I have music for my lyrics. To be honest, it would be pretty daft to judge MTV Music Generator in the same way as a normal game. It's not really a game, MTV MG2 is more of a tool or utility with the main aim of being able to make cool music as simple and as enjoyable as possible. After 20 minutes of fiddling about you won't have produced something that could be called a tune. You could have a Jimi Hendrix masterpiece of your own after an hour!! The increased memory of the PS2 has allowed for a great total of 9000 samples to be included. I didn't buy my PS2 for steenking productivity titles. I bought it for GT2000, Metal Gear Solid 2 and Tony Hawk 3. But since none of those games are available yet, and the PS2 was being used mainly for playing Driver 2 and Medal of Honour (PSOne games), I thought I'd give this product a go. It got a good write up on SPOnG (www.spong.com), and an excellent review in Official Playstation Mag, and I already own Codemaster's Music which is the predecessor of this game's predecessor.
