Yet another game in Electronic Arts best selling game series Need for Speed, this one is Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 and was released in 2002. You can play the game either single player or multiplayer with a friend split screen and the game is rated 3+.

Story

You can play as either the police in the be the cop missions or as a normal racer. For the police you have to try and catch and arrest speeders using a variety of methods you can either get backup, try to ram them of the road or lay down spikes to puncture their tyres.

If you are racing you have to try and win races whilst avoiding the police, there is over 20 different cars to race with like Lotus, Porsche and BMW's and over 60 different tracks to race on each which are open ended and allow short cuts a lot of the tracks are off road.

Gameplay

The graphics are pretty detailed, witch changeable camera angles depending on how you like to race, the AI is pretty good and quite hard to beat on the harder levels.

You can set up how you want you race, like players, traffic and day or night as well as a few other options, the main part of the game is the championship and tournaments where you have to win several races to win trophies. You can also play speed trials, practice, quick race and also delivery where you have to deliver a package whilst trying to avoid the police.

Overall

A fun racing game that although is like a lot of others the chance to play as the Police and run speeders of the road is very good and adds a bit of difference to other racing games, there is plenty of tracks to race on and plenty of cars, a good game for any racing game fan.
