Onimusha has now spawned numerous sequels, and whilst I do enjoy the series, developed by Resident Evil masters Capcom, it's not without its little flaws and holes. Still, it's entertaining and certainly quite challenging, so overall I would praise it. Visually, it's a very impressive title that has excellent fluidity in terms of animation, and the fighting in particular looks very realistic, and something out of a martial arts film that its star Takeshi Kaneshiro (who lends his likeness for the protagonist Samonosuke, and will star as him in the long-awaited film adaptation) would partake in. The enemies you fight are also appropriately grotesque, and the ... Read the complete review

Onimusha is a survival game developed by Capcom for the Playstation 2. In this game you play as a samurai names Samanosoke Akechi, the storyline follows a really simple story, a princess is kidnapped by a group of evil demons and your quest is to rescue her. The story wont challenge you to think and is decent if not a little cliché but it is a challenge to listen to it as they have used extremely bland voice actors. Gameplay can be compared with the Resident Evil games pre Resident Evil 4, your character moves with slow deliberate movements and the camera is fixed, while this premise worked well for the Resident evil franchise when you are only ... In onimusha warlords, players assume the role of Samanosuke Akechi a young samurai whose mission is to wipe out a group of demons that have kidnapped a princess. Okay, the plot ain't nothing new, but onimusha has more than enough bloody combat and puzzle-solving to hold your interest. The game moves quickly and offers a solid mix of sword fighting and exploration, all viewed from an over head perspective. Onimusha boasts some of the best graphics seen yet on PS2, with clean detailed outdoor areas and gorgeous cut scenes. Think Resident Evil in ancient japan with swords instead of guns and you'll have a good idea what onimusha is all about and why it works. A ... Read the complete review

Happens every day, doesn't it? Samurai type fella, walking along minding his own business cleaning his blade when BAM! Some freakist monstrosity comes along and kidnaps some chick... who happens to be a princess. Well what's a samurai to do? Go after the chick whupping monstrosity butt, that's what! And that sets the scene. Have fun... ...more? More do you say? Okay then... Onimusha Warlords is an excellent game from Capcom, and the makers are evident just from the feel of the gameplay. What happened was, they were making another sequel to Resident Evil, liked the game so much they totally changed the main background ... Read the complete review
