It would be safe to say that my enthusiasm for this game is virtually limitless. The menu of my PS2 indicates that my last game of Ratchet and Clank has clocked up over 80 hours of game play; and I could pick it up and keep playing it just as easily now. Innovative, imaginative and completely addictive, this game will have you hooked from the outset, and has so many features and ingredients that even now I am finding new things to do. It's almost tempting to leave it there and tell you just to go and play it, but I guess you might want to know a bit more, so I'll try and fill you in. The hero of this tale is a cat-like mechanic called Ratchet from a small ... Read the complete review

Among the few 3D jump'n'run games I enjoy, Jak and Daxter always is one of my favourites. So it was only natural that I put high expectations in the "can-you-say-sequel" Ratchet and Clank by Insomniac Games. Who is Insomniac Games you might ask - well Barking Dog Studios changed their name and became Insomniac Games - it's that simple, nothing more, nothing less. Not wanting to just produce a Jak and Daxter 2 (which might still come around some time, although) the developers replaced the two heroes with a new, similar couple and a new story and universe. Ratchet, space ship mechanic by profession, meets Clank a self-conscientious robot ... Read the complete review

Ratchet and Clank is the first game in the sucessful series of the same name. Ratchet and Clank were created by the gaming geniuses at Insomniac games in 2002. For those who don't already know, Insomniac is the company that made the character Spyro the Dragon and made all of the Spyro games that were on the PS1 console. Speaking of Spyro, Ratchet and Clank reminds me a lot of the 5th game of that series, "A Hero's Tail", which was on the PS2. It's the graphics and music that remind me of that game (note to self, gotta check the credits on both games). One of the first things I noticed is that the game's instructions weren't in a booklet format. The ... Read the complete review

Ratchet and Clank is a platforming action title exclusive to the Playstation 2 developed by Insomniac. The story introduces us to the pair the furry weasel like Ratchet and Clank, the two join together to stop the evil Chairman Drek who is hell bent on creating himself a new planet which would mean the end of the galaxy! The duo head off on their adventure which is told well, easily comprehendible and has some really silly scenes that will get you to snigger along the way. In the game you will normally control Ratchet, the game is a third person adventure which shows off the excellent character animations, Ratchet is armed with a variety of weapons ... This must rank as one of the best platform games that I have had the pleasure of playing such is the enormity of the levels and the great use of humour that it utilises. Ratchet is some sort of cross between a hare and a cat and meets Clank who is a robot when he falls out of the sky. Together they agree to take on the evil Drek who is busy plundering other planets. Each of the levels involves you having to protect a planet. You will do this by making use of all the weapons at your disposal, you start with a simple wrench however you will soon acquire such items as a bomb glove and then cannons and flamethrowers to name but a few. When you destroy an enemy ... Read the complete review
