Advantages: Great platformer

Disadvantages: Don't think you'd play it through again

Ratchet and Clank will no doubt go down as one of the best platform games ever created, when playing the likes of Sonic the Hedgehog and Mario 64 it became clear that the PS2 was struggling to create something as fun and indulging and indeed even as original as the classics from their heyday.

The closest it seemed to come for me was the effort of Crash Bandicoot but for me I just never felt that involved with Crash. Thats not an issue for Ratchet and Clank as there is a very deep and engrossing story given to this 3D platformer.

I'd like to mention that theres some really funny quips in this game that really make it fresh and enjoyable to play, none of it falls flat and it realy keeps you coming back for more.

The Graphics are brilliant, sure they're a little carttony at times but in general this is a wonderfully presented game. The game play is fun and easy to use, with nice attacks and the game moving at a high tempo this caters every need for a platform game.

Overall I'd say any fan of any platform game has to have a look at this, it's an amazing game and i'd urge PS2 gamers to pick this up at it's now budget price. Thumbs way up in the air!

Summary: Brilliant game that platform fans should seek out
