Advantages: Loads to do, satisfying shooting
Disadvantages: Changes the movie storyline, difficult
Scarface The World is Yours in an action game developed by Sierra for the Playstation 2.
The game puts you into the shoes of Tony Montana, the game changes the ending of the film with instead of Tony dying he is able to fight his way past Sosa's men and escape. The games storyline has Tony rebuild his empire from scratch, battling against his cocaine addiction, with the ultimate goal of taking down Alejandro Sosa. While fans of the movie may not like the fact they change the plot it certainly makes sense and I thought the story was enjoyable.
The game contains a wide variety of gameplay, you can free roam around the city of Miami but the game fails to let you go on the hilarious murderous rampages that you could do in Grand Theft Auto, as the game fails to let you kill civilians (perhaps Al Pacino didn't want to associate himself with senseless violence?!) You can take control of cars and drive around and later on in the game you even get your hands on some boats to get to the surrounding islands. Vehicles are fun to drive too.
The games main missions allow you to progress in the story and gain your empire back and usually involve lots of shootouts, the shooting in the game is actually very satisfying and allows you to lock on to enemies but adjust your aim too allowing you to accurately place shots. There is also a cocaine dealing game you can take part in where you supply the city with the drug, you start off small but you can make a ton of cash for your empire eventually getting warehouses full of the stuff.
The game is really tricky however, the police really come down on your hard and in the later missions they throw so many thugs at you that you will die over and over which can be frustrating to say the least.
Graphically the game is better than a Grand Theft Auto title with alot less of a grainy look, Al Pacino doesn't provide the voiceover but there is a good sound alike actor.
Scarface is a good action game with a variety of different things to do which keep you coming back.
Summary: A good action game.
