Advantages: unique concept, great gameplay, breathtaking graphics and artwork

Disadvantages: may get repetitive after a while

Shadow Of The Colossus is one of only 3 games that have stopped me from getting rid of my PS2. For this reason it is in my eyes a truly special game.

If you appreciate classical music and stunningly beautiful landscapes then this game is for you. It is a unique concept from the people that brought you ICO. Your weapons are only a sword and bow and as you ride the landscapes on your horse searching for creatures the size of mountains, you must use your wit and a good sense of timing to jump and scale the large Colossus's to climb to the top of them where you can destroy them.

There is a variety of Colossi to deal with (around 15 if memory serves me right), each with unique challenges to overcome, from an underwater one that means you have to not be under too long so you don't drown to a flying one where you must scale its wings.

Some may find it tedious or repetitive i guess but personally i love the simplicity of the game and how beautiful the graphics are, with some editions of the games coming with artwork which is equally stunning

Summary: a great unique concept for a game with beautiful graphics.
