I have known grown men admit to being too scared to get out of the lounge to go up to bed after playing SH2.

Yes it is bloody scary! even the zombie nurses scare me.


But its a beautiful game, so atmospheric and absorbing. The music is hauntingly beautiful. But this game should be played correctly, lights off, windows open and in the dark cold of night. You'll get the real feel of it then.

James Sunderland, recieves aletter from his wife Mary, er, only shes dead inviting him to their 'special place' in a town called Silent Hill.

Most of the game is spent navigating through the town, picking up clues and keys to lead you onto the next place. A little bit of zombie killing also, but you can just run straight past them to conserve your health and energy.

Theres a few puzzles and riddles also.

Early in the game James picks up a radio, and OMG the sound when the zombies are near is so very unsettling - STATIC. Its sends shivers up your spine.

Pyramid head (aka c*nty mctriangle) is the boss, and you will have to fight him occasionally.

It really is a fantastic game, one you will be fully sucked in to.

The great thing is understanding the symbology of it all, pyramid head for example and how it is representative of James' inner pain.

Also see the film of Silent hill, but only if youre a SH gamer, otherwise it makes sod all sense, and in my opnion does not standalone as a film.

Summary: Awesome game, great atmosphere and quite frightening
