Advantages: Excellent graphics, Storyline interesting

Disadvantages: terrifying!, a little short, not much replayability

For a terrifying, pant-wetting experience there is no other game I would recommend. Despite being the second Silent Hill game in the series, this game stands apart from the first one and doesn't require the player to have experienced the first. The story revolves around a man called James who receives a mysterious letter from his dead wife Maria. He journeys to the town of Silent Hill to discover the reasons behind the letter, whilst encountering a series of grusome, terrifying creatures from your worst nightmares. It is impossible to reveal any more details about the storyline than this as the game thrives on mystery and suspense. The plot however, is one of the great features of this game and combat almost takes a back seat to the exploring and puzzle solving that is to be encountered. As a female gameplayer, I tend to prefer games that are more puzzle orientated and from this point of view, the game is perfect. The combat elements are necessary, but they are not constant and you can sometimes spend around ten minutes before encountering any evil creatures. The suspense is built around the fact that you never know what is going to jump out of the fog and surprise you and for this reason alone, I would advise you never to play this on a night when you are alone! The game also lends itself to a spectator game in that another person who is not playing the game can also enjoy it due to its high story content. My boyfriend tends to prefer games in which he shoots everything in sight and although this wasn't his type of game to play, he was gripped by the story and ended up banning me from playing it when he wasn't around! All in all, a gripping game which once you start playing you will be unable to start, its only drawback being that it was a little short and that I managed to complete it in a weekend.

A sound opinion :)

At first glance, this appears to be a nondescript chunk of writing. However, I was surprised to find (upon closer inspection) that what you have written is of good quality.

I recommend the usage of headings (Introduction/Story/Gamep lay/Graphics/Sound/Contro ls etc) and full paragraphs. Not only will this allow you to group information clearly and concisely, but the visual structure (and thus readability) of your reviews will be infinitely improved.

As said, what you have written here is of a high standard - a simple lick of presentational polish will work dividends, and you will recieve far more in the way of VU ratings. Add some more depth and a touch of flair - and your writing has the potential for crowns!

Good luck - I hope this is helpful to you; it is designed as constructive criticism only - not a sermon :)

Take it easy,

Let me know if you have any questions,

Dave.
