Singstar Party is available on PS2 and is probably the only Singstar available which suits a wide variety of people if you live in a house like me which has people citing all different kinds of taste in music. It has all the songs that you all know and some others you're not familiar with but either way they're all singable and will keep everyone happy. I came by this game as one of my housemates bought back her old PlayStation 2 with a whole load of games and it was one of the ones we tried out and thoroughly enjoyed. At first I'll be honest this is great fun if you're with a group of friends but after a while it does get rather reptetitive especially if you've done every song already. The interface is really easy to understand when choosing a song using the normal controller then once a gaming mode is selected and a song is chosen the gameplay is very easy to understand with a clear indication of what notes need to be sung or shouted or however you want to sing it into the microphone controllers which register your tone of voice and the idea is to match it to the song. During gameplay the lyrics are shown as is the music video wherever available, if not just a montage of the band or singer. The best thing about this game is that you don't have to be a great singer, just to be able to reach whatever note and overall it's all good fun. On it's availibility there is a direct link from this website to Amazon but I do suggest shop around, especially at second hand shops such as Cex or Game where you could get yourself a bargain. If you have the microphones already they are compatible with other Singstar games so you wouldn't need to buy another set of microphones. There are several other versions available and I believe PS2 games are compatible with PS3 consoles. Overall based on sheer entertainment I'd give it a 4 out of 5. If you want to keep playing this game over and over again I suggest only to do so when you come in after a night out or when you've had a few drinks, it makes the game even more fun.
For ages now Ive been meaning to get a couple of Singstar games for my Playstation because Id much rather play this type of game than a football one or something like that - dont get me wrong Fifa's all right every now and again but this is definitely something Id rather play on. So a few weeks ago with my latest batch of amazon vouchers I decided to buy a few of the games starting with this "Singstar Party (PS2)" because after looking through this one seemed to have quite a variety of songs that would be good for a party because there seemed to be something for everyone whatever your taste in music. Now I am not the best singer and I dont kid myself that I am so you dont need to be X-Factor material to enjoy playing this take it as a laugh and you will love it! Useful Information: Price: Around 10.00 (That is just for the game & not the microphones which can be bought seperatly for around 20.00) Stockists: Amazon Other Info: Up to 8 players at one time, 30 new and improved tracks ranging from duets to solo songs & this game is eye-toy compatible. To play this game you will need at least one PS2 microphone which is plugged into your Playstation just beneath where the controller goes - its a little USB hole and there is one on both sides should you own two microphones. Its easy to set up as you just enter you name and then pick a song to sing. The songs on this disc are: Alicia Keys - Fallin' Ashford & Simpson - Solid The Beautiful South - A Little Time Bill Withers - Ain't No Sunshine Blu Cantrell - Hit 'Em Up Style (Oops!) Bob Marley - No Woman No Cry Buggles - Video Killed The Radio Star Busted - Year 3000 Cyndi Lauper - Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Destiny's Child - Survivor Dido - White Flag Duran Duran - Hungry Like The Wolf Elton John & Kiki Dee - Don't Go Breaking My Heart Elvis - Way Down The Foundations - Build Me Up Buttercup Franz Ferdinand - Take Me Out George Michael - Faith Jamiroquai - Cosmic Girl Javine - Real Things Kylie Minogue - I Should Be So Lucky Little Richard - Tutti Frutti Maroon5 - This Love Natasha Bedingfield - Single Pink - Just Like A Pill The Police - Every Breath You Take Scissor Sisters - Take Your Mama Sonny & Cher - I Got You Babe Spandau Ballet - Gold Spice Girls - Who Do You Think You Are Tiffany - I Think We're Alone Now And I think you'll agree there is quite a variety there and I think everyone will find a song they like - whether you will be good at singing it or not is a different matter! So once youve picked a song the video and the words will appear at the bottom of the screen and you sing it as you would with karaoke and try and sing it the same as the artist which isnt as easy as it sounds. The game will measure you on: pitch, tone and timing and then give you a rating based on how well (or how badly!) you have sung the ratings are things like Lead Singer, Wannabe & if you do very well SINGSTAR. Obviously some of the songs are more difficult than others to get right as some have very high notes that I cant manage to hit personally. The first time I did this I attempted the Alicia Keys song and failed miserably so I think you have to know what your strengths are when playing this. I have played this both on my own - you know you can fully let go and dont care how bad you sound then and at a party with my friends and I have to admit it is far funnier the second way. We played a few duets - which can be done on ANY song, played as a pair which means you both sing and then find out who has the better voice and alone and they are all equally as good. Im not 100% sure how you can play with up to 8 players because Ive never tried it myself - or with the eye-toy but the more people the better I reckon. Favourite Songs (AKA The One's I Got A Good Rating On Hehe): White Flag, This Love & Just Like A Pill. Having said that though Video Killed The Radio Star is hilarious for duets and always manages to get the party laughing at least. My Worst Songs: Girls Just Wanna Have Fun - I love this song but singing it is SOOO much harder then I expected & Fallin' dont attempt that one unless your quite a good singer!! This game will provide hours of entertainment at parties and believe me even the normally shy types will be up on this after a few beers and I dont think Ive known anyone to play this and say they didnt like it. Fun whether theres a few people or a whole room full me and my mates love it! You dont have to have an amazing voice to play this just be up for a laugh and you never know you might be really good! Thanks For Reading. x0 Salz 0x
This is definitely a game that should not be played on your own, but rather with a lot of people around, and is especially good for parties. There are a lot of games with this little, all of which have a difference and a twist. Ever since I played my first game, I was hooked on it completely. This game is definitelt not complicated, and all you have to do is sing. There are a lot of mini games, you can sing a duet, on your own, or you can both practice and compete with others. I like playing against other people, as it makes thing a little more interesting. Seeing whether a computer thinks you are a good singer or not does seem a little rideluous, but its really not. This version of the game features many more songs than some of the others, and in particular more dancing songs which you can really get yourself into. You will have so much. This game doesnt cost that much, and if you have already bought a previous game, then you wont need to spend any more money on any microphones, which are essential to play Singstar Party. I love this game. Who will win the game, who knows.
Get your friends round, choose a song, become a Singstar! This was the first game that I brought in the Singstar collection and came complete with two microphones, the necessary piece of equipment to use the microphones with your PS2 and was just under £35.00 from my local Game store. The tracks on this disc are absolutely great for when you are having a party as almost all of your friends are going to know at least one track! There are great games to play such as battle, duet and pass the mic which allows you to have two teams of up to four players. There are some great songs for duets on this album too which are the songs that I tend to stick to when playing with my fiance. (He's great, I'm definitely not!). The battle game is when you play head to head against a friend or loved one and you both sing exactly the same number of lines to find out who is the better singer. The duet game is when you are designated lines in the song based on the colour of your microphone (red or blue - I'm always red!) and at the end of the song you are scored and rating (wannabe, singstar etc) based on how well you performed. Tracklisting: Alicia Keys - Fallin' Ashford & Simpson - Solid Bill Withers - Ain't No Sunshine Blu Cantrell - Hit 'Em Up Style Bob Marley - No Woman No Cry Buggles - Video Killed The Radio Star Busted - Year 3000 Cyndi Lauper - Girls Just Wanna have Fun Destiny's Child - Survivor Dido - White Flag Duran Duran - Hungry Like The Wolf Elton John & Kiki Dee - Don't Go Breaking My Heart Elvis - Way Down Franz Ferdinand - Take Me Out George Michael - Faith Jamiroquai - Cosmic Girl Javine - Real Things Kylie Minogue - I should be So Lucky Little Richard - Tutti Frutti Maroon5 - This Love Natasha Bedingfield - Single Pink - Just Like A Pill Scissor Sisters - Take Your Mama Sonny & Cher - I Got You Babe Spandau Ballet - Gold The Beautiful South - A Little Time The Foundations - Build Me UP Buttercup The Police - Every Breath You Take Tiffany - I Think We're Alone Now My favourites: Ain't No Sunshine, Video Killed The Radio Star (great for duets!!!), Cosmic Girl & Gold My not so favourite: Tutti Frutti, A Little Time, Hungry Like The Wolf & White Flag. This disc is definitely my favourite for performing duets and Gold is my most favourite Singstar song so far, I just love belting along to the chorus and pretending that I'm good enough to sing on stage! All tracks are accompanied by their original music videos (where possible). This game (like most Singstar games) can be enhanced with the eye toy usb camera and this shows you singing when you use the playback feature.
I Love Singstar & i have most of the singstars that are out. ~ What Is Singstar? ~ Singstar is a singing game for the playstation 2. You will need microphones which you can buy with the game you get 2 mics and a USB adaptor. Once you have the mics you can buy the solus singstar unless you want more mics. You sing into the microphone (obvs) and you have to try and hit the notes (Watch out for the bonus points!), the game will detect the pitch you are singing and how many notes you hit. At the end of the game it will add up your points and give you an overall score you can get. ~ The Songs ~ Singstar has 30 songs to choose from here is the list: * Alicia Keys - Fallin' * Ashford & Simpson - Solid * The Beautiful South - A Little Time * Bill Withers - Ain't No Sunshine * Blu Cantrell - Hit 'Em Up Style (Oops!) * Bob Marley - No Woman No Cry * Buggles - Video Killed The Radio Star * Busted - Year 3000 * Cyndi Lauper - Girls Just Wanna Have Fun * Destiny's Child - Survivor * Dido - White Flag * Duran Duran - Hungry Like The Wolf * Elton John & Kiki Dee - Don't Go Breaking My Heart * Elvis - Way Down * The Foundations - Build Me Up Buttercup * Franz Ferdinand - Take Me Out * George Michael - Faith * Jamiroquai - Cosmic Girl * Javine - Real Things * Kylie Minogue - I Should Be So Lucky * Little Richard - Tutti Frutti * Maroon5 - This Love * Natasha Bedingfield - Single * Pink - Just Like A Pill * The Police - Every Breath You Take * Scissor Sisters - Take Your Mama * Sonny & Cher - I Got You Babe * Spandau Ballet - Gold * Spice Girls - Who Do You Think You Are * Tiffany - I Think We're Alone Now This Singstar is very good as it has 30 songs to choose from, other singstar games only have about 15. There is a wide range of artists with different style voices so there is a song for everyone, and the more you practice the better you will get! ~ Other Features ~ You can play with your friends as you can have a battle Or Duet. You can play with up to 8 people. It is compatable with the eye toy. Freestyle this doesn't have the scoring so you can sing however you like and if you don't know the song you can listen to it a few times and hum along to get used to it. Melodys- It plays parts of different songs. It is a great game to play on your own or with friends. If your having a mini party at home and your a bit tipsey it's always amusing! And you can playback and hear how you sang =)
This is without a doubt the best singstar game released yet!! I love the singstar series so comming from me that really means something. The gameplay on this game has been massively expanded. Firstly this is the first game with the 8 player option where-as previously the maximum was 4 players. Great fun for parties and if there is more then 8 players you can perform in pairs which means a possibilty of 16 players. Secondly this game has a freestyle option which means that a player can sing along without being rated. This is good for when you want to practice a song or simply sing along and enjoy yourself without having to worry about your score. The best feature is the eye toy compatability. You have to purchase this separatley but it is without a doubt worth it. Once conected the singer can see themselves performing on the screen which is a great chance to practice those dance moves also. My fave songs on this disk are Cyndi Lauper- Girls just wanna have fun and Elvis- Way Down but there's somany songs that your sure to find something you love to sing. For all those of you who would like to know the full track listing is: Alicia Keys - Fallin' Ashford & Simpson - Solid The Beautiful South - A Little Time Bill Withers - Ain't No Sunshine Blu Cantrell - Hit 'Em Up Style (Oops!) Bob Marley - No Woman No Cry Buggles - Video Killed The Radio Star Busted - Year 3000 Cyndi Lauper - Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Destiny's Child - Survivor Dido - White Flag Duran Duran - Hungry Like The Wolf Elton John & Kiki Dee - Don't Go Breaking My Heart Elvis - Way Down The Foundations - Build Me Up Buttercup Franz Ferdinand - Take Me Out George Michael - Faith Jamiroquai - Cosmic Girl Javine - Real Things Kylie Minogue - I Should Be So Lucky Little Richard - Tutti Frutti Maroon5 - This Love Natasha Bedingfield - Single Pink - Just Like A Pill The Police - Every Breath You Take Scissor Sisters - Take Your Mama Sonny & Cher - I Got You Babe Spandau Ballet - Gold Spice Girls - Who Do You Think You Are Tiffany - I Think We're Alone Now
Singstar is a fab concept and has the technology to back up the idea. We bought a PS2 just so we could play singstar! Brilliant to play with the family or with a group of friends. With so many ways to play the game it tests your pitch tune and holding of the notes. Most of the time you realise you don't know the song as well as you thought and can become addictive as you try and try to get your timing perfect. With a good blend of older and new hits there is something for everyone, even my Mum and Dad have had a go! From the older generation down to my 6 year old it is fab entertainment. Even the most shy of people are son battling to get the mic as it is possible to win even if you can't sing if your timing is right.
Like all the other singstars this is such good fun and all that alters is the songs. To play the game you can sing on your own or in pairs and compete to see who sang the song the best. What the game tests you on is your timing, tune and the holding of the notes so that it is the same as the actual song and not how good your voice is. Its great that it doesn't test your voice as i would be no good at this game! The screen shows the words and shows you whether you made the note or not and so you can see how your doing it shows your scores at the top of the screen. This game has a lot of party songs on it, and is a mixture of old and new songs and overall it has a good balance of the two. Its great fun and is an essential game at any party.
**Overview** Singstar is a brilliant piece of technology to measure your pitch rhythm and tone wile singing into the the awesome microphones. With a mix of "oldies" and new songs to really spice things up. I love this game so much, because i am really suckish at games that require any button skill (so pretty much anything else) but Singstar just requires you to be able to sing, in time and in tune to 30 specially selected songs . The songs on Singstar party, are really quite fun to just sing-along too (even if like me, you cna't sing all that well) Also a simplistic rating system gives you a clue on how well your doing, so I think that the rating ranges from awful(0-100points) to Singstar(9000+) usually a skilled player wants to aim for about 7500 points to get a reletivly nice rating of Lead Singer. **Song List** Alicia Keys - "Fallin'" Ashford & Simpson - "Solid" The Beautiful South - "A Little Time" Bill Withers - "Ain't No Sunshine" Blu Cantrell - "Hit 'Em Up Style (Oops!)" Bob Marley - "No Woman No Cry" Buggles - "Video Killed The Radio Star" Busted - "Year 3000" Cyndi Lauper - "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" Destiny's Child - "Survivor" Dido - "White Flag" Duran Duran - "Hungry Like The Wolf" Elton John & Kiki Dee - "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" Elvis Presley - "Way Down" The Foundations - "Build Me Up Buttercup" Franz Ferdinand - "Take Me Out" George Michael - "Faith" Jamiroquai - "Cosmic Girl" Javine - "Real Things" Kylie Minogue - "I Should Be So Lucky" Little Richard - "Tutti Frutti" Maroon 5 - "This Love" Natasha Bedingfield - "Single" Pink - "Just Like A Pill" The Police - "Every Breath You Take" Scissor Sisters - "Take Your Mama" Sonny & Cher - "I Got You Babe" Spandau Ballet - "Gold" Spice Girls - "Who Do You Think You Are" Tiffany - "I Think We're Alone Now" **advantages/Disadvantages** Well lets start with the negatives then finish on the positives shall we? To be honest, the songs get really repetetive after a while and it's not something that can be playedby ones self, also the difficulty settings pose a little bit of a problem as the jump between them is far too large (your best sticking with easy, trust me) also if like me you struggle to pitch and you want to sing a song that is perhaps the wrong pitch you won't get very many points because it doesn't take into account pitch properly(so you could be hitting the right notes but because your pitching too high or too low your not getting the points), furthermore you get more points for putting power into your performance and less points for the notes you hit which is very unfair on those of us who can't get the power but can hit the notes. Right enough negativity; positive, positive, positive. The songs are a collection of differerent artists styles and even genres so you can normally find something to suit you. The songs themselves are very well known so you can usually pick up the lyrics or the tune if your not too familar. If you have 3 or 4 people you can have a full on tournament so you can show of your singing prowess and battle it out on battle mode, or work with everyone on duet or pass the mic, so yes it's a very good game to play in a group, then you can just watch the video of the songs and listen to some free music! **my opinion** I fell in love with this game when I played it around my cousins house and I still love it now, it always keeps me entertained on those rainy days we often see in Britain, even though I would prefer it if I had some competition other than my cousins or myself (no social life because i am just a hermit) I still love the feeling of acomplishment when you kick your previous high scores butt. I dislike some of the songs on Singstar party but thats only because I can't sing them :) All in all i love singstar and to be honest its fantabulous
Another Singstar game but that's no bad thing, my daughter who is nine years old loves these "games" and so does my wife, me I'm not too bothered because I'm tone deaf and can't sing! We now own every release of SingStar so far on PS2 and this one faithfully follows the tried and trusted Karaoke formula of the rest. Basically you sing along as the lyrics are presented on screen, and are awarded marks for your efforts. At the end you find out if you are tone deaf (like me!) or are a "rising star" or even a "Superstar". The real joy of all the SingStar games though is the sheer good fun that they are, you can play them with the kids, on your own (like I do, I have to admit), or the best laugh of all with some friends after a night out or during a big family get together. On this disc, are such delights as "Video killed the Radio Star, Girls just wanna have Fun and "I think we're alone Now" by Tiffany. There are also tracks by the likes of Alicia Keys, Busted, Kylie etc. In short enough to satisfy most people, and really get the Party started.
SingStar is a really good fun game and brilliant to play with a group of friends. I recently attended my auntie's house warming party and this game was whipped out for a play. We had a lot of laughs as one by one each guest humiliated themselves singing everything from Muse to Aretha Franklin. There are loads of different game titles so be careful if you are thinking of buying this game to look at the options, for example if you are a pop music fan don't buy the 80's songs version. It is such a fun game to play and after you have paid for the microphones the different versions of the game itself only actually cost £20 each from my experience. Also you don't have to be a world class singer to do well at this game which is certainly good for me! This is a really fun game for groups to play.
I bought a PS2 specially to play games like, singstar, buzz, eye toy etc. That is games that I could do something to get points and if I lost that would be my fault. Anyways, I got this game about two days after I got my playstation. I love the songs because most of them are well known and almost everyone can sing. Here's the list of the songs Alicia Keys - Fallin' Ashford & Simpson - Solid Bill Withers - Ain't No Sunshine Blu Cantrell - Hit 'Em Up Style (Oops!) Bob Marley - No Woman No Cry Buggles - Video Killed The Radio Star Busted - Year 3000 Cyndi Lauper - Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Destiny's Child - Survivor Dido - White Flag Duran Duran - Hungry Like The Wolf Elton John & Kiki Dee - Don't Go Breaking My Heart Elvis - Way Down Franz Ferdinand - Take Me Out George Michael - Faith Jamiroquai - Cosmic Girl Javine - Real Things Kylie Minogue - I Should Be So Lucky Little Richard - Tutti Frutti Maroon5 - This Love Natasha Bedingfield - Single Pink - Just Like A Pill Scissor Sisters - Take Your Mamma Sonny & Cher - I Got You Babe Spandau Ballet - Gold Spice Girls - Who Do You Think You Are The Beautiful South - A Little Time The Foundations - Build Me Up Buttercup The Police - Every Breath You Take Tiffany - I Think We're Alone Now I really recommend this game and I believe every playstation 2 owner should get one. Have fun singing !
i love the singstar games me and my mates play them at partys and sing all nite, it is defo worth gettin one. the only reason i got a ps2 was so i could get the singstar game, and for £19.99 a game it was defo worth getting them, loads of my family members have gone and brought the game for theres after playing on mine. its even better if you cant sing. like me lol
this is a brilliant game. it comes with two microphones. the game has old songs and new songs on so it is for all ages. you can play up to 8 players and it is guaranteed to bring laughter to the house. come and show your friends and family just how good you are at singing. or prove to them your bothered about your voice and that you can just have a good time. everyone should have this game its brilliant. this game is easy to use. all you have to do is connect the mircophones into the usb port on the playstation. and you still need to use a normal controller when you done this thats it you can sing away. and have the time of your like.
Great game if you like singing or what to prove what a good singer you are even though you may never become a real music star this is as close as you are going to get. Comes with microphones for you to sing your heart out on. Plenty of different songs for you to sing along to. Brilliant party game up to 8 players so why not get 7 of your mates round and.... SING YOUR HEART OUT!!
SingStar Party is guaranteed to spice up any social occasion with its manic blend of multi-player fun! The game measures players' pitch, tone and rhythm as they sing into the USB microphone, and analyses how well or badly they sing! Players can practice on their own or dive straight into the action - battling it out with up to seven mates in one of the many new multiplayer games, including competitive Duets, Solos and Battles, plus many other innovative variations on traditional party game modes. Like its predecessor, SingStar Party features a fully licensed track list with a variety of songs from top artists ranging from contemporary artists such as Maroon 5 and Scissor Sisters to classic acts such as The Police and Duran Duran. Many of the tracks feature the original videos for each song. To compliment the new multiplayer gameplay modes, SingStar Party features many traditional duets, such as 'Don't Go Breaking My Heart' by Elton John and Kiki Dee.
