Advantages: Fun for all the family
Disadvantages: Some bad songlist choices
I have been a fan of Singstar ever since it was first brought out, so I have tried many of the different Singstar games. For those who don't know, before getting a Singstar game, you need to buy the microphones first, which cost am extra 20 pounds.
Singstar is basically karaoke, where you actually have to sing in tune to earn points. There are three modes - Solo, Party (for 2 or more players) or head to head. Once you have chosen which mode you want to play, there is then a choice of difficulty to choose from. There is then a choice of songs, but if your'e playing in Party Mode, you aren't allowed to choose the song you want to sing, so if you don't know the song that's been chosen, you can use a shuffle token to change the song, but be careful, as you only have a certain amount of these to use! As the song plays, it shows the video in the background with lyrics on the top or bottom on the screen, depending with microphone you are using. There are then bars, showing the pitch that you should be singing at, going across the screen, which you have to hit to earn points. Once you hit the bar, it fills up, showing you that you're in tune. This may sound complicated, but I promise you, it's incredibly easy to play! Just sing and voila!
The price is 15 pounds, which I think is quite reasonable, seeing as most of the Singstar games are around 20.
It is a great game to play at parties or with family, when there are 4 or more people. My friend bought me the Disney Singstar for my birthday and, as a huge fan of Disney, I was very excited to play it!
The game includes songs from the classics, like Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King, while also including songs from the more recent films, like Toy Story. The main problem that I found with the game was the choice of songs. Disney has made tons of movies, yet six films have been given two songs each - Cinderella, Jungle Book, The Lion King, Sleeping Beauty, Peter Pan and The Little Mermaid. Also, some of the songs aren't as well known as other songs that they could have chosen. I didn't really know "Son of Man" from Tarzan or "I wonder" from Sleeping Beauty, among others.
On the whole, I think this game is fun for all the family, but it isn't the best Singstar game out there.
Summary: Overall a fun game, but other Singstar games better

- 02/05/09 You need to include more information regarding how to use the game, ease of use, good and bad points and the cost.
As someone who has never used the games there is not enough information for me.
