Advantages: it has lots of replay value, kepp ya going for hours

Disadvantages: can get boring after a while, not for everyone

Ssx3 is the latest snowboarding game to come out

Gameplay

There are 12 main characters to play with in this game all with the different moves and uber move to perform and different looks however at the beginning their stats are at the lowest level. Also whenever you get the boost bar up to the max you have the ability to be able to perform an uber move and when you do 4 of these you can perform a super uber move which is 2times as hard to perform but worth a lot more.
There are four game modes that you can play, the single event mode lets you play any type of level that you have unlocked in the main game playing mode and be able to try and get the highest score.

Conquer the mountain mode is where the game really get to heat into what this game really is, basically the aim of the game is the earn money or $ to buy items to customize your character to your needs, you can earn money in the three main modes on conquer the mountain, the first one is the racing track mode which is as basic as they get, you have to get to the bottom of the track using any means you can, you can beat up your fellow racers, however they will want your blood later on in the race, but another bonus when you beat up someone is that you get a full boost bar for your efforts and one race is divided into three different races so you complete the first on e then you have to do the next one and after you complete the last one you get paided the prize amount depending on which position you came and if you get gold then you get another free piece of equipment.

The second one is the freestyle mode , in this one you have to get the highest score you can by performing tricks, to help you get the highest score you can there are different pick up you can get to increase your score, they are the snowflakes that increase your score automatically with yellow the easier one to get and black the hardest to get , and there are the multipliers that times your score by the amount if times it has, again with yellow the easier one to get and black the hardest to get but the black one can times your current trick by 10 times. Again when you get a gold you get money and a unlocked piece of equipment,

And the last mode is the free roam mode, this mode lets you explore the mountain without any major goals to reach to, in this mode you can collect the various snowflakes that can offer a decent amount of money but also in this mode you can get paided by doing big challenges and normally when you complete one of these you are given a much harder one to do and so on and another way of making money is to perform tricks and these can give you up to a max of $20 per go. When you have enough money you can buy all sorts of things like clothes for your character or you can increase his/her stats (it cost more the higher the level go’s ) you can custom your music on your own play list, it is free for the first 5 songs so use the free credits wisely also you can buy secret characters that only serve as a laugh for everyone and other little extras.

However in conquer the mountain they are three different peak each one harder then the last and these can be unlocked by the certain goals, there are fours ways to do this, one is by completing all the races on race mode, second is to complete all the freestyle races, third is to get 25% of all the snowflakes on that peak and complete about 30% of the big challenges, and lastly you have to collect enough money like for the first peak you have to collect $100000 to get to peak2. However the harder the peak is the more money you can earn on any of the modes.

The main split screen multiplayer mode is the mode where you can challenge you mates to a good snowboard match,

and this is one of them games where you can play it online and face against players all around the country if you have the ps2 modem.

Overall
I wasn’t a big fan of snowboarding games but this one as made me buy all the other ssx’s this is a game worth playing as to complete the game fully will take you about two weeks with one character and also with the replay value being so big this game will keep you gripped for weeks on end
