Argh I got killed again! (Star Wars: Battlefront (PS2))

Advantages: Great weapons, get to kill that annoying Jar Jar Binks and family!

Disadvantages: Get killed too often and repetitive

When this first came out, I was not that excited about it but the more I saw it around, the more interested I was. I finally got the game second-hand and boy was it worth it! Great things about the game are:

Action- There is never a dull moment in the battles! From ewoks firing arrows at heavily armoured stormtroopers to flying rebel starfighters, you are always in the thick of it which is great until you realise that an enemy is behind you firing at your head.

Weapons- Personally I just go for a bog standard infantry trooper with a rifle. I do more damage firing lasers in the general direction of the enemy than trying to snipe them or throw grenades at them! But enemies seem to hit you no matter what you use.

Aliies AI- Absolutely outstanding. I am never on my own as my allies are always firing at the enemy while I run forward and covering for me if I get seperated from them.

But there are some little niggles that sometimes spoil the game...

Too easy to die- If you aren't being shot at by enemies 50 metres away, your own are shooting you in the back! Grrr...

Repetitive- Nice surroundings but you don't get to look at them much as you are too busy trying to defend yourself from waves after waves of enemies. That is the repetitive bit. Same old same old every level just a few trees on one level, desert in another, ice tundra in another...

Enemy AI- They get the best defensive ground and some decent weapons and they use them to devastating effect! your ranks soon get decimated if they go the wrong way.

In general it is a great game but not for that long as you get killed so much unless you creep around. Multi player is slightly better but it is still the same old thing over and over.

Summary: Great game but repetitive
