Although many people complain of Capcom releasing endless versions of their Street Fighter franchise, alot of people seem to miss the point that earlier releases are not arcade perfect, something that the fighting game community insist on. So, Capcom did the unthinkable and released this Anthology, not only with the original Alpha games and Pocket Fighter, but also with a remixed Hyper Alpha version incorporating all the characters, with brand new moves and grooves! The original games appear to be arcade perfect (or unfinished perhaps in the case of Alpha 1). Alpha 2 is my personal preference in the series, but many people prefer Alpha 3. Both have ... The Alpha games are more cartoony and exaggerated compared to their original Streetfighter counterparts. For many years Capcom have been churning out Streetfighter games but many of them were just gameplay tweaks to an existing game engine in order to produce Streetfighter 2, Streetfighter 2 Championship edition and so on. Streetfighter Alpha was a whole new project set before Streetfighter 2 and introducing loads of new characters. Old favourites Ryu, Ken and Chun Li were joined by Nash who is an old friend of Guile's. Sodom and Guy who were originally from Final Fight and Adon and Birdie from Streetfighter.
