Advantages: Streetfighter Alpha 2
Disadvantages: Streetfighter Alpha 2
For many years Capcom have been churning out Streetfighter games but many of them were just gameplay tweaks to an existing game engine in order to produce Streetfighter 2, Streetfighter 2 Championship edition and so on.
Streetfighter Alpha was a whole new project set before Streetfighter 2 and introducing loads of new characters. Old favourites Ryu, Ken and Chun Li were joined by Nash who is an old friend of Guile's. Sodom and Guy who were originally from Final Fight and Adon and Birdie from Streetfighter.
This game had been redrawn in a more cartoony fashion but the biggest draw from this game is the 3 level super system which enables you to perform devastating super moves on your opponent.
Streetfighter Alpha 2 is quicker, prettier and far superior to its predecessor with 5 new characters added into the mix. Gen from Streetfighter, Rolento from Final Fight, Zangief and Dhalsim from Streetfighter 2 as well as a whole new fresh fighter named Sakura. These characters compliment the roster perfectly and with the whole new custom combo system you are getting a whole lot for your money.
This collection also brings you the enhanced Streetfighter Alpha 2 Gold with even more characters added in including Cammy.
Streetfighter Alpha 3 unfortunately lets the side down due to Capcom try to jam it with new features and characters but with Streetfighter Alpha and Streetfighter Alpha 2 in the collection you can't go wrong.
Summary: Perfect for Streetfighter fans
