Premium Review Street Fighter EX3 (PS2): No one fought with me when I took this back to the store. (712 words)

Rating:

The first ever PS2 version of Street Fighter features the same tired and true game play of the past games but now there are new tag team options available, a Character Edit game, and, of course, all new 128-bit graphics. So is this the ultimate PS2 fighting game? Nope! The story is pretty much the same old get the evil M. Bison storyline that has been going on now for years. There are also a lot of secret characters too ...  Read the complete review

Most casual fight fans had moved on to Namco's Tekken and it's sequels, and series fans were ...  Read the complete review

It had been a while since I had played Street fighter. The countless and ultimately pointless re-releases had caused me to spurn what had been one of my favorite series. With this release on the Playstation 2 I was convinced some sort of significant advancement must have been made, sadly I was wrong. ~Gameplay~ Many of the same characters have returned for the gods knows how many `th release of the streetfighter franchise. On playing it, it is actually quite difficult compared with the past versions I remember, but that may be because I am just out of practice with beat em ups. Many of the original moves remain so little learning on ...  Read the complete review
