Advantages: Addictive, Great gameplay, Tons of extras, Quality graphics, Tekken Classics
Disadvantages: Repetitve Gameplay. Devil Jin mode isnt great
Tekken 5 is everything you could want from a console beat em up: a good selection of characters, large variety of great gamemodes, customisable features and overall fun and addicitve gameplay.
Tekken 5 is the latest in the long running fighting series and therefore everything you have expected from previous installements makes a welcome appearance. New features include a range of new characters to the already classic lineup and several new gamemodes including devil Jin. The stroy mode has been improved and provides a nice diversion from the usual versus/teambattle modes and adds longetivity to the game. Money earnt from these modes can be used to purchase and customise the characters as well as unlock additional movies etc. This in itself adds depth to the gameplay and gives the player the chance to make one character truly his own. Versus mode still provides unlimited fun playing against each other to prove who really is the best fighter. Also included in the game is Tekken 1,2,3 given you the chance to relive those classic fights and see just how much the series has evolved.
Graphically, this is a great improvement on its ps2 predecessors and the frame rate is solid, meaning even the most techninal combos look sleek. The lush backgrounds/fighting arenas are very detailed and help to enahce the overall fighting experience.
Overall this is an exceptional and therefore essential game which i would recommend to anyone. The gloves are well and truly off !
Summary: The King of Iron Fist Tournament is Back... and its the Best in the Series
