... anything like the films actors and they are voiced by different people. I like this because until you're reviewing the game you don't compare it to the film. There is enough to keep anyone amused in this game as there's also combat, sneaking and piecing together the evidence to find the answers. The combat is simple enough that anyone can do it but really satisfying. Basically you hit someone then have to choose between pushing them or fighting them, fighting works best. All you do is press the sequence of buttons that ...more

Premium Review The Da Vinci Code (PS2): A Marvellous Mystery (467 words)

Rating:

The Da Vinci Code is quite possibly one of the best PS2 game I have ever played if not the best. The game follows the main story of the book, which if you are not familiar with it consists of Robert Langdon being called to view some strange cryptic messages on a body and then being thrown somehwta head first into a world of intrigue and mystery with the grand-daughter of the dead man. Together Robert and the grannd-daughter, Sophie, must try and crack the code left by her grandfather and try and find out all about the Da Vinci secret. But unfortunately they are not the only ones on the trail. Like I have already said the game follows the basic ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Alright but not one of the best games for the ps2 (176 words)

I respect the reviewer's point of view, but quite how she can say that she thinks that this is the best ps2 game is beyond me. The game is not bad but not a classic either. The positives are the longevity of the game and the depth. There are lots of little sub quests that are on going throughout. The depth is also good and there is a surprising amount of knowledge packed into the game which gives your general knowledge a bit of a boost. If you are that way inclined, then there is a lot of puzzle solving which I find good as long as you can do it within 15 minutes. There are solutions for anything you cant do on the internet, but its a tad depressing to ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review The Da Vinci Code (PS2): Da vinci code PS2 (562 words)

The Da Vinci Code roles everything into one with combat, puzzles to solve, stealth to pull off and more. TRUTH TO MOVIE The game generally follows the storyline of the movie, there is some extra events added that could not have happened in the movie but the plot of the game and film are similar is most aspects. 4/5 COMBAT SYSTEM The combat system is very basic and uses a system of controls that would be more suited to a dance game (press the right button as it appears on the screen). I think that it is obvious that this game was not designed with the combat system in mind and that it was just a necessity. 2/5 NON-COMBAT ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review The Da Vinci Code (447 words)

The Da Vinci code is the 2006 game developed by the collective. Storyline Basically, if you have read the book or seen the film the plot is exactly the same. The basic storyline is to find the holy grail whilst solving puzzles and fighting the murderous albino monk silas. The first glimpse of this franchise that I got a glimpse of was the book. Which was a total success, possibly one of the best books I have read, rivaled only by other greats from the author Dan Brown. I then watched the film, which I thought was a slight disappointment as it had large gaps in the plot, which would have made it hard to understand, unless I had read the ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review The Da Vinci Code (PS2): Da Vinci code (333 words)

I really enjoyed the film and when I wanted a break from FPS games I turned to this. Comparing it to the film the story is pretty much the same with some levels added like at an airport that the film didn't have much of, unfortunately seeing the film does kind of make some of the puzzles pointless as you know the answer but there are still a lot of others which will make you think. The game does try to set itself apart from the film in a lot of ways, the characters don't look anything like the films actors and they are voiced by different people. I like this because until you're reviewing the game you don't compare it to the film. There is enough to keep anyone amused in ...  Read the complete review
