The Getaway Black Monday is an action game developed by Sonys London Studio exclusively for the Playstation 2. The story doesn't tie in to the previous game at all except for the fact that it is set in London, so playing that isn't necessary. The story follows multiple character this time Sergeant Ben Mitchell a police officer, Eddie O Conner a boxer on the wrong side of the law along with Sam Thompson who works with Eddie and is agile and computer savvy. This is a review on the newest Getaway game called The Getaway: Black Monday. This is the first review I have done on these types of games, so please bare with me, and I hope that I make a lot of sense! I shall be talking about the previous game a bit so you know what’s going on, and what’s happened, and I will talk about the actual game itself. This game is a great sequel to the first one and Team Soho have enhanced it tremendously. The graphics, missions everything has got better. There is plenty of unique characters.; brilliant dialogue and voice acting. The storyline The game starts with a cut scene with Sgt Mitchell chasing a young thug he shouts stop and the young thug turns around picking his gun up. Sgt Mitchell then aims his gun at him as well the thug goes to run away and Sgt Mitchell shoots him making the boy fall to the ground and die. What does this mean for him?………. The Getaway: Black Monday is a solid sequel to a game that didn't quite deliver on its hype as a GTA beater, but was nevertheless a solid game with some inventive gameplay touches and a very genuine level of difficulty. For this sequel, things have been toned down a bit, but mostly for the better, making this a more accessible sequel that's still got some great gameplay nuances and superb graphics for its time. As much as the first game was a marvel on release, as is this game - it effectively captures the London cityscape and from first glance is also rather accurate with its placement of major landmarks.
