The getaway is the 2002 game developed by team SOHO The getaway is made in the same format as the grand theft auto games. Basically allowing you to 'free roam' as often as you like. You play an ex gangster, Mark Hammond. After retiring from a life of crime, Hammond has settled down with his wife and kids, only to find that one day his wife has been murdered, and his son has been taken hostage by the leader of a rival gang, Charlie Jolson. Cockney gangster time in the style of the Getaway, based in London this game is pretty much made in the same veign as Grand Theft Auto was, basically you play a one time crook who has his wife and kids stolen but has to go back to his gangster ways to get them back . You can play this game either as the villain or the cop which is a nice touch as they're two completley different plot lines. Graphics - Yeah the graphics are really good, in fact they've recreated 40 Kilometers of old London town for you to drive through on your missions and it all looks very detailed and very good.
