Advantages: Better character movement, more content, goals and fears system
Disadvantages: No story at all this time.
The Sims 2 is a simulation game for the Playstation 2 developed by EA Games.
The storyline in this game is sadly absent, it has a sort of challenge mode like the Sims Bustin' Out but this time with no narrative of any sort to pull it together, this really disappointed me as though the previous versions didn't have complex storylines having a narrative of some sort is way better than omitting it altogether.
The controls been improved significantly over the previous console versions of the Sims, in this game you can have direct control over your Sim moving them with the analog stick rather than pressing on locations with a cursor which suits the PC titles far more. However if you do prefer the older controls you can use them.
In this game you have Goals and Fears which are the objectives you will accomplish, your Sim will want to do something like achieve a certain career position, buying something for their home, making a good meal, make out with someone, have a baby and so on and it is your job to guide your Sim on the path to achieving these goals. This is also how you unlock new content for your Sims so you will need to achieve these to see all the game has to offer.
Like previous titles you can create your own Sims and build them a house and fill it with all that your Sim could want, get a job, make friends and so on. The life simulator aspect of the game is still very good and you can waste hours on tending to your Sims while neglecting your own life in the process!
Graphics have received a boost and characters now look more natural, music is great with some Simlish version of real songs included in the game.
The lack of a story mode really does let this down a bit but it is still a good simulation game at core.
Summary: A basic storyline would have made this better!
