for me, this is the best golf game for PS2. t gives an experience of golf which is as close as one can get to the real thing whilst still being a computer game. As an avid golf fan and player myself i enjoyed the experience for once of being able to hit the green in one on a par four - although this does not mean that i felt the game was in any way too easy. I especially enjoyed the extra games such as the one on one formats as well as the four ball and pga season modes which provide a varied and exciting challenge which i believe allows the game to be so addictive and never boring. The graphics are brilliant, on a par with the fifa football series which is the benchmark for sports games. There is also a good create your own player mode so you can recreate yourself and up to 3 other people (i have never been so good at golf!). There are many challenge modes which involve straight drive competitions and other fun task based modes which are fab incase you get bored of the normal game mode (although, in my experience that is hard to do).
I really do love this addictive and fabulous game and would recommend it to every sports game lover.
Well,it took my family a while to get me to have a go at this, but now they find it hard getting me back off.Totally addicted and love it.
The Game Face feature has lot of detail and customization available for each body part, and after designing my own golfer, I can choose from 3000 items in the "Pro Shop" which allows me to purchase new clothing, clubs, balls, gloves,
Being a typical female,..I loved making my character...doing her hair, eyes, facial features, body shape, height, voice Tone and more.Once I have finished making my golfer...in the options menu I can then choose my swing style.
I love playing against the computer because when winning,I can choose more clothes to buy,and clubs etc to make my player even better as it adds an upgrade to how your golfer plays.
In this year's Tiger Woods PGA Tour, there are a total of 21 courses, 16 of which are real, and 5 are fictional, however some are locked at the beginning of the game,so you have to play your way through to unlock more courses.
A very enjoyable game.I am soon to get the 2008 and 2009 now I am so into this game hehe.
A really great game worth the money, no doubt. The game offers huge variety in both single player and multiplayer modes. the multiplayer modes are great fun and the 'traditional' games offer perhaps the most variety where you can find games such as 'skins, matchplay, strokeplay, ect... how is the game only 13 quid!? the single player modes are by far the best out of all of the tiger woods pga tour games before this one. the game offers you the chance to play against greats such as jack Nicholas and Gary Player. there is also a tournament calander that gives you a sense that you are actually playing a real seasons golf! the game is made more realistic by the fact that you can create your very own player and earn money by playing the competitions and therefore buy your player more attributes and pieces of equipment. great buy overall and a highly addictive game. the only slight dissadvantage for me was the fact that the game feels slightly arcadey and once you have played it a lot it becomes quite easy to win every tournametn, however the multiplayer mode will keep you entertained no doubt.
The world's number one golfer is back with the 2007 edition of his now classic and much lauded Tiger Woods Golf. EA created this game and it all started nearly 15 years ago when Tiger was no doubt still at school. Originally named PGA Tour Golf, this brand has been around a long time and racked up it's share of birdies in it's time. So how does this one measure up?
Well the first thing you'll notice is that the graphics aren't too hot, for some reason they same to have deteriorated over the last few years, in previous editions they were pretty sharp and really colourful, but the best way to describe them here would be fuzzy.
The game play is ok, they stick to the usual analogue swing which has been constantly popular but it can be a tad easy at times.
There are plenty of different little challenges and there is the usual career type mode too but for me I found the most fun part playing battle golf. Playing hole for hole and when you win you're opponent loses a club until the are left with none.
All in this is a decent golf game but it doesn't meet the previous high standards that the game has had before.
You would expect the best golfer in the world to only lend his name to the best golf game in the world, okay maybe that is a bit naïve but in Tiger Woods 2007 you do have a pretty good golf game that is fun to play.
There is a lot of game play to be had from this game as there are so many options available to you with loads of different formats such as match play, skins and regular stroke play to name but three. One of the new versions is one ball where you try to give your opponent as difficult a shot as possible so that you have an easy put however it is not as easy as just fluffing your turn and putting the ball in the bunker as for each shot there is a target area you must hit otherwise you miss a turn of course if the target area includes a bunker then you can aim for that. This adds a nice tactical twist to normal golf and is a good addition that I have not come across before.
The standard PGA Tour mode is still a lot of fun and as ever the shot play is relatively easy to master the mechanics however it is still very challenging to make your shots. One option you do have is to choose how the shot mechanics works as you can use either of the last two versions methods to play your shots. The ability to create your own golfer is a lot of fun and makes the whole game play a lot more interesting and you can change both appearance or character without needing plastic surgery or counselling just a few clicks of the controller will suffice. Alternatively you can play as one of the pros and there are about two dozen of these to choose.
One of the reasons that there is a lot of game play time to be had with this one is that you can adjust the difficulty level for different parts of the game using some slide controls so rather than just opting for generic easy, hard, hardest type options which impact on everything you are able to change individual features so you can make the swing action harder or make the greens faster and more difficult to control your putting.
Visually the game is still as good as ever with a great deal of detail on all of the courses and the character representation is top quality.
Definitely a game to check out as the game play is a lot of fun and very challenging and there is a decent number of options to choose for the match format.
