Disadvantages: 2 player mode has small screen
Time crisis 3
To start of with Time crisis is a capturing game. Trying to play it for 15 minutes simply doesn't work because you will want to go threw to the next stage to unlock new ones.
The story goes that the Zagorias federation has launched an attack on the island of Astigos, territory of the neighbouring nation of Lukano. Despite heavy resistance the Zagorian army has already captured 80% of the island. The word goes round that tactical missiles have been planted over the island which is not only a thread to Lukano but also to the surrounding countries. At first an elite force was set up to confirm the existence of the missile and to destroy them. However, they where captured and now the tension has only increased. The directory is anxious about the situation and you are send out to remove the thread.
One of the best features of the game has to be the graphics. In some games, people aren't very clear. However, everybody is very realistic and they are designed for perfection. There are 5 main types of enemies and each one of them is different. You have grey enemies which are easiest but they are in plentiful supply. Watch out for the red ones these shoot very accurate and my advice is to shoot these down first. Next come yellow/grey soldiers. These have machine guns. They don't shoot as accurate but as they have so many bullets, you have to be careful. Another fact about them is that they have longer live so you have to shoot them a couple of times. One type have knives attached to there hands. These can be a real pain in the backside as they are fast and you don't expect them. These also have more lives then others and therefore my tip is when you see them duck away until they have finished there attack and then shoot them down because they will stay in front of you long enough to shoot them down. Luckily these don't show up very often. Another enemy you have to watch out with are the blue ones. These are either equipped with heavy artillery of throwing weapons. Usually they throw knives or axes with incredible accuracy, what makes it slightly more difficult is that they don't show up in red like bullets which are about to hit you. This makes it tricky to see and they can suddenly come out of nowhere. You have another type which look quite similar to the yellow and grey enemies. However, these give you bullets for you other guns. Therefore shoot them as much as you can because the more bullets hit the more bullets you receive back.
This brings me to the weapons. These have been thought about and there is a nice variety of guns you can choose in. Obviously you still have the handgun which has infinitive ammunition, even thought you do need to reload them every once and a while which is easy as you just duck away which automatically reloads you. Next in the list is the machine gun. Defiantly one of my favourites. You start of with a specific amount of bullets but these can reloaded by shooting down you enemies which I told you about earlier. I love this gun because its so affective with bosses or when there are just so many enemies around that you think. OK your all going down now. Which just captures you. The shotgun is also a lot of fun. This shoots out about 5 bullets in one go. The fun bit is that you aim for one person but also shoot down like 3 behind him without meaning to. Last but not least is the grenade launcher.
This gives an explosion which kills everybody standing within a couple of meters of your target. The grenade launcher is a vey affective weapon against machines in the game and my advice is to same the bullets up for the machines.
The game has 3 stages each with different areas. Between each area you get a little pause with a little video clip just with some information. You don't need to watch them but its defiantly nice to get a break sometimes and so therefore if I was you I would just watch them and relax for that odd second. As if said earlier you get into the game which can be quite nerve-racking. However, its fun, you even try to dodge the bullets yourself even though you know it's a game and you cant be hit yourself.
If I had to mention a downside to the game it would be the 2 player mode. Its still fun to play and the quality is still the same. However, you screens turns really small to fit it onto your TV screen and this is actually quite disappointing.
This is pretty much all there is to say about the game. I could describe the stages and are but these are more fun to find out yourself. Enjoy the game and get captured so that in the end you really do think you've saved the planet.
Thanks for reading Nitrocide
Summary: great capturing game.

- 28/02/09 I was god on the original game so I bought 2 and 3 for the PS2 however the g-con2 failed to work with my Sony digital widescreen CRT so I never got to play them. Still have them so I may try it with a plasma. |
