TimeSplitters 2 pretty much single-handedly proves that the FPS isn't limited to the PC in terms of quality - this, along with the Xbox's Halo, assures us that, if given appropriate care, they can be extremely fun games that don't have to have shoddy controls and poor gameplay. Free Radical consist largely of people who used to work for Rare, and have now started up their own company. Yes, the people who worked on the amazing FPS Goldeneye made this game, and therfore there's no surprise that it's one of the best console FPS games ever. It also improves significantly on the encouraging first installment, with an overhaul of the multiplayer mode, introducing ... Read the complete review

Timesplitters 2 is a shooter developed by Free Radical for the Playstation 2. The game actually features a storyline this time around though it happens to be paper thin, you play as Sargent Cortez who must stop the evil Timesplitters who want to destroy the Earth by travelling through time and destroying the world by manipulating the time crystals, his job is to travel through various different levels which all have their own unique time period and collect the crystals and save the world! While not exactly Oscar winning stuff it's a definite improvement over the first and like the first is also playable in co op mode which is always great fun. ... Read the complete review

Timesplitters 2 is, in a word, unique. Designed for the hardcore and casual gamers alike, this masterpiece of Eidos is worthy of praise in the annums of Playstation 2 games, and it is little wonder that this epic sci-fi shoot-em-up got a 10/10 in Playstation magazine. So onto the nitty, gritty, as with it's predecessor "Timesplitters", you are a sergeant of a military option to eliminate the Timesplitters - a freakish mutant race of beings who are messing with the past, present and future of your fictitious "earth". Your job is to travel to different parts of this past, present, and future and recover the time crystals that will restore ... Read the complete review

Way back 2 years ago when the PS2 was first released among the despairing average launch games were two who stood head and shoulders above the rest. While games like Tekken Tag Tournament proved simply to be eye candy that played like their predecessors on the original console two showed a significant step forward into the future. These two games combined brilliant next-gen graphics, addictive playability and an insane speed of play. Ok so games before these two had been quick, arcade Ridge Racer to name one, but these games displayed what was possible with the new technology. They were the games to show off to your mates. These two games were the benchmark that all the . Read the complete review

...the country. People have been found in their homes, hunched over in groups of four, their cold clammy hands limply cradling controllers as the flicker from a television set dances in their vacant, still-open eyes. These poor souls will be found like this, in the dark, grinning because they will have forgotten to eat, sleep and probably even to breathe after one of the foolish four suggested they have "a quick round of 'Splitters 2" a week earlier. And I'm among them. The original 'Splitters showed us that not all first-person shooters had to be dark and brooding. They could be funny and light-hearted without losing any of the intensity ...
