Advantages: Creative storyline, characters, and game modes. Amazing multiplayer!
Disadvantages: Very easy to finish one player
Timesplitters 2 is, in a word, unique. Designed for the hardcore and casual gamers alike, this masterpiece of Eidos is worthy of praise in the annums of Playstation 2 games, and it is little wonder that this epic sci-fi shoot-em-up got a 10/10 in Playstation magazine.
So onto the nitty, gritty, as with it's predecessor "Timesplitters", you are a sergeant of a military option to eliminate the Timesplitters - a freakish mutant race of beings who are messing with the past, present and future of your fictitious "earth". Your job is to travel to different parts of this past, present, and future and recover the time crystals that will restore balance to the very time-space continuum which is playing up and annihilate the Timesplitters for good. Overall, a straightforward and very creative storyline, but one which is disappointingly short. Thankfully, the shortness of it all is saved by a medal awards system for the hardcore gamers.
The game's real diamond is in fact the mind-blowing multiplayer and arcade modes which made this game the success it is. You can play in varying difficulties to fight against/with (or even both) your friends just for the pure fun of it. From different gameplays such as Virus (basically, get tagged and you lose) to Gladiator, playing as a monkey, snowman, chinese chef or whatever you want - Timesplitters 2 has the craziest, wackiest, most hilarious and surreal multiplayer I've ever played and will definitely be a great addition to a 2 in the morning sleepover.
Summary: Find a few friends
