... component, it's going to be very difficult to get yourself away from it! Although you probably won't much care for it, the game revolves around Captain Cortez again, who resembles Riddick more with every day that passes, as he crashes onto planet Earth, where the Timesplitters are messing around. After dangerous criminal Jacob Crow escapes his capture, Cortez must both stop him and the Timesplitters from destroying the world. Presentation wise, this is an amazing game. The sound effects of the weapons are very impre...more

A game of sheer brilliance, TimeSplitters: Future Perfect is the worthy successor of TS2. Mixing fast, inventive gameplay with cartoon-style graphics and witty humour, TimeSplitters is how video games really should be. TimeSplitters: Future Perfect is the third in the TimeSplitters series. An engaging first-person shooter, TS3 puts you in the role of Sergeant Cortez, a spacetime marine back from fighting the evil race of TimeSplitters who have the power to travel through time. Cortez arrives back at Earth with the Time Crystals that allow the 'splitters to time travel, only to find a huge TimeSplitter assault on the base he is trying to reach. His plane is ...  Read the complete review

I’m sure everyone will agree, it’s great when you spot a bargain. Well, in the instance of TimeSplitters: Future Perfect, ‘bargain’ would be a severe understatement – I came across a brand-spanking-new copy on play.com for the ridiculously small total of £4.96. It’s certainly the best game I’ve never spent a fiver on! TimeSplitters: Future Perfect (TS: FP) is the third (and probably final) PS2 instalment of Free Radical’s highly-acclaimed dynasty of first-person shoot ‘em ups. Despite the fact it had to follow an excellent predecessor and that between instalments the gaming-goliath that is EA snapped up the rights to the series, it is easily the best iteration ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Time Splitters 3 - Future perfect (PS2): It's Time to Split! (361 words)

Timesplitters 3 is a shooter for the Playstation 2 developed by Free Radical. This time Timesplitters 3 goes all out and has a really good single player story, you resume the role of Sergeant Cortez on his quest to get rid of the TimeSplitters, he goes on a romp through time to stop the crazy Dr. Crow from creating the TimeSplitters, this time he has a really silly catchphrase "it's time to split!" and has a really unique aspect to the gameplay where you will travel through time and aid yourself, this has you travel say a few minutes back so you can help defend your future self from an enemy you didn't know about at the time and the interactions ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Timesplitters third outing! (618 words)

Timesplitters is a series that has been around since the dawn of the PS2, a shadow game that wasn’t widely publicised but gained a lot of critical acclaim. The first “Splitters” introduced a frantic style of play that saw the player running from the start of a level to the end to pick up an item, just to run all the way back, chased by zombies, Timesplitters or some other type of ghoul. This simple gameplay mechanic was incredibly addictive, despite being a “Story” mode in the loosest possible way. However, with the advent of the third game in the series, we are given a story mode that lives up to it’s name and that is worthy of particular attention. This time ...  Read the complete review

Though this remains in my mind a truly great game, it also lingers as a slight letdown. I bought this soon after it came out and as a true Timesplitters 2 fan, perhaps I was hoping for the impossible, but I kind of expected this to be a lot better than its prequel. It does not improve very much on Timesplitters 2 however given that ts2 was an old time great then this game also goes down in the books. Timesplitters 3 is a fps set to a fast pace, involving unconventional missions, characters and quirky humor. There are missions which can be completed in either single player or co-op mode which are well designed, and one of these is an absolute peach- it is ...  Read the complete review
