Advantages: Made more forgiving, new multiplayer mode, good storyline

Disadvantages: Still quite tricky

Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow is a stealth action game developed by Ubisoft for the Playstation 2.

Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow has you resume your role as the tough gruff hero Sam Fisher, this time Sam is in Indonesia this time around after a threat codenamed Pandora Tomorrow is discovered which involes a terrorist group led by Sadano and his terrorist cell, the plan is to launch disease carrying missiles into the USA, Sam must stop this threat and save the USA from those who wish it harm once again. The plot is engaging and the spy thriller is made more authentic by excellent voice over.

The gameplay hasn't really evolved to much from the original Splinter Cell you still have your light meter which will tell you how hidden you are from enemies and ideally you will want to keep in the shadows at all times. You do have a couple of new tricks in Pandora tomorrow like your pistol is now equipped with a laser sight and Sam can zoom in with his SC20K assault rifle which allows you to place far more accurate shots.

The game still requires you to be super careful and sneaky, hiding bodies as you go to avoid enemies being alerted. Thankfully now at certain points in the level they will reset the alarm count so if that frustrated you about the original Splinter Cell this game is somewhat easier and less punishing.

The game does add a multiplayer mode which is the best new addition to the game, you can play either as Spys or Mercenaries. A spy plays like Sam does in the single player but uses non lethal gadgets and cannot kill a mercenary with weapons, you must perform a variety of objectives without getting killed. Mercenaries are played in first person and the game plays like a first person shooter, but you do get a few gadgets to use to locate the spies the only goal of the mercenary is to kill spies.

Graphics have had a significant boost since the first game, the characters now look sharper and the darker environments are more detailed. Voice acting is good too with Michael Ironside returning to voice Sam Fisher.

While the single player is more or less the same as the previous title multiplayer adds a whole new depth to Pandora Tomorrow.

Summary: Sams second adventure is still a good 'un.
