This was the game I bought the original playstation to play. I think it was 1996/97 when this first came out and I remember going to a mates house and he said "you've got to see this" and put on Tomb Raider. About a week later I had my own console and copy of this game, and even to this day have to say it is quite possibly my favourite game ever. I still have every PS1 version of Tomb Raider and the subsequent PS2 versions and eagerly await the upcoming PS3 game too. When I discovered that a PS2 version of the original game was to be released, albeit reworked for the new console I couldn't wait. For those not familiar with the ... Read the complete review

Tomb Raider started way back in 1996 on both the Saturn and the Playstation, receiving quite a reception, being quite popular, not only amongst the spotty 13 year old boys at the time but by other gamers. Even though it was pretty obvious the series protagonist Lara Croft was made with sex appeal in mind it still stood out as a game itself, causing many more sequels which got worse over time, with the rock bottom being Angel of Darkness before the series was once again revived with Tomb Raider: Legend, introducing Lara back to the tomb's she was meant to raid. As anyone whose played the original PSone Tomb Raider's will tell you, they were not big on making a lot of sense plot-wise, and boss battles invariably involved you up against another character with your guns. This game is the remedy to that. Let me explain, in this game, boss battles come in two forms, a button-pressing cutscene similar to Legend's cutscenes and the traditional gun fights. Lara will fight human enemies in the cutscenes and all other boss's in the gunfights. The boss' ... Read the complete review

Its been over ten years since the first Tomb Raider was released on the PSOne, but as the famous quote states: “Sometimes To Understand Your Present, You Have To Go Back To Your Past” and that’s exactly what Tomb Raider Anniversary gives. However can the original allow for further improvements for this well known series? Well to be honest this is the most refreshing and breathtaking Tomb Raider to date and Crystal Dynamics have pulled out all the stops to produce a game of excellently high standards, both graphically and in playability. What is Tomb Raider Anniversary? – Well as a special thanks to Tomb Raider fans, Crystal Dynamics teamed up with ... Read the complete review
