... very short. The game has story goals for you to accomplish and for the most part they are what you have come to expect from the series so far, you will have to perform different tricks, get a high score, or perform a certain action somewhere so you can unlock new areas for you to skate around in. The skating mechanics have remained pretty much par for the course for a Tony Hawk game, you have different grabs and flips and grinds which are performed by pressing down the button and holding a direction with the anal...more

Premium Review Skating in LA with Tony Hawk. (415 words)

Rating:

Tony Hawks American Wasteland is a skating game for the Playstation 2 devloped by Neversoft. Tony Hawks American Wasteland puts you in the role of a skater who has journeyed to the skating paradise of Los Angeles and you build your character by joining a skating crew, learning new moves and meeting new characters. The aim of the game is to make a name for yourself participating in skating contests and just hanging out with your crew and helping people out. The story here is very basic and is even worse than the extremely stupid Destruction World tour with Bam Margera in the last game though like that game it is very short. The game has story goals for ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Tony Hawk's American Wasteland (PS2): Tony Hawk's American Wasteland (265 words)

I purchased this from game on a 3 games for £20 deal some months ago now and find it to be quite an interesting play. This game is for 1 or 2 players and works with the 8mb memory cards which you can purchase for the Playstation 2. This game is also compatiable with the analog control pads (this makes the analog sticks vibrate if you fall off or do tricks etc). On the game you can choose whether you skate around or ride around and the game does not have any loading or anything as it is the first ever free roaming version of a Tony Hawks game. There are lots of good missions to carry out but you can also just choose to ride or ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Tony Hawks American Wasteland: Great game (219 words)

This is a great skateboard game; basically you play as skater who has come to Los Angeles in search of fame and fortune with regards to skating. There are loads of challenges and eventuallyyou end up trying to save an antique skate park by getting a load pros together to create a video - the funds of which go to buy the skatepark. The graphics aren't great but they really don't need to be. You can customise your character as you like and the freedom to do so is quite fun. The map is like one big skatepark which quater pipes and kickers all over the place. There are a lot of gaps that you can skate around and find and each time sucessfully do one it is ...  Read the complete review
