Advantages: Very Addictive, Best THPS yet
Disadvantages: None really
The third game in the multi million selling series by the Legend ?Tony Hawk?. It outdoes its predecessors in every way imaginable. The graphics are greatly improved, the game play is a lot smoother and more advanced and the overall addiction factor is a lot higher. What the game is about As in the first two Tony Hawks games, you skate about on set levels completing challenges in the 2 minute time limit. The challenges range from getting a high score to collecting icons about the arena to unlocking different parts of the level. As always, there is the secret tape to collect, but there is also a deck to collect. Collecting the deck icon unlocks a certain deck for the skater to use. The decks don?t perform any differently, but they allow you to customize the way that your skater looks. To improve your skater, you collect stat points. Each stat point that you collect allows you to increase a particular skill of the skater, which range from Ollie to air to rail and manual balance. Longlivety/ addictiveness The game has a lot of levels for you to skate in, and each level has 9 different challenges unique to that level. The challenges start off easy, like get 10,000 points, so that you can get used to the controls of the game and get used to the game play. The challenges get harder as you progress through the game up to ones that would challenge even a Tony Hawks veteran. These increasing levels of difficulty are good as they get harder at approximately the same rate that you get better, so no challenge will seem impossible, but they are always challenging. The deck collecting also adds some extra longlivety to the game as it is a good personal challenge to collect all of the decks for all of the characters. I can confidently say that this game will keep you occupied for weeks, even after you have completed the basic challenges. Graphics/Game play The graphics on Tony Hawks 3 are really good, impeccable almost. They h
ave improved a lot since the first two games, and the game play is a lot smoother. The characters are a lot more recognizable as the skaters that they represent, and the moves/ tricks that they can do have been copied well. The tricks look a lot better and they seem to flow a lot more than its ancestors?. Value for Money At just £30, this game is one of the cheaper games, but you wouldn?t be able to tell that from the quality of the game. It is a first class game for the price of a second rate bargain basement reject. Sounds good to me. Snap this game up while you have the chance, it is selling out of the shops at an alarming rate. With so much game playing potential, it will keep you occupied and enthralled for hours upon end, and it still costs less than a new release, what more could you ask for?
