Tourist Trophy (PS2) ... Turismo game. Polyphony Digital has announced its oft-rumored motorcycle simulator. Titled Tourist Trophy: The Real Riding Simulator, this PS2 title promises to do to two wheels what Gran Turismo did to four. Polyphony seems to be going all out with this one, with a collection of bikes from big bike makers like Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki and Honda. The developer is even including real life suits and helmets. Polyphony is concentrating on making these bikes control like the real thing. Of course, with motorcycles, cornering is an important part of the race, and, sure enough, changing your riding form during cornering plays a major role in the game.

As anyone who enjoys real racing games will know, Gran Turismo 4 was just about the greatest one to hit the PS2, thanks to it's huge variety of cars and tracks. Well guess what... Polyphony Digital have done it again, but this time with bikes. Most people will groan at the idea of a bike game, just like I used to. I used to play the odd bike game and get bored due to it being either incredibly difficult or unrealistic, or sometimes both! Tourist Trophy has quashed my former opinions though, as this is just great! It's a combination of realism and simulation, while still making it easy enough to just pick up and play. As has been said, it does ...

'Really amazing' is what anyone with enough patience would say about this game. I will start off by sayying DO NOT judge this game by your first race, (as i doubt that anybody would so much as stay on the bike for a whole lap, let alone win the race). But once you get past that learning curve, the game really is amazing. It is made by the same people (polyphony digital) who created gran turismo (in my opinion, a groundbreaking sim. game which has paved the way for most racers today), and tourist trophy looks to do the same for bikes. The thing i will stress about this game is, it is very much not a 'pick up and play', arcade style game (if you want this i suggest looking ...
