Tourist Trophy (PS2)

Tourist Trophy is a racing game for the Playstation 2 developed by Polyphony Digital. Polyphony Digital have extensive experience creating racing games so have decided to basically create a Gran Turismo series for bikes, like the Gran Turismo series Tourist Trophy features two main modes of play, the Arcade mode where you will want to spend a bit of time trying out the various bikes on offer and the Tourist Trophy TT mode which is the main portion of the game. As anyone who enjoys real racing games will know, Gran Turismo 4 was just about the greatest one to hit the PS2, thanks to it's huge variety of cars and tracks. Well guess what... Polyphony Digital have done it again, but this time with bikes. Most people will groan at the idea of a bike game, just like I used to. Don't even think about buying this if you have got any engagements or holiday's booked in the next few months because you won't be able to tear yourself away from your PS2! As a biker and gamer the choice of buying this title was a no-brainer. However, the game surprised me in terms of how well thought-out it was. In terms of the 'main' game you get a variety of tracks and bikes. There is also the license system (which players of the Gran Turismo series will recognise). 'Really amazing' is what anyone with enough patience would say about this game. I will start off by sayying DO NOT judge this game by your first race, (as i doubt that anybody would so much as stay on the bike for a whole lap, let alone win the race). But once you get past that learning curve, the game really is amazing. It is made by the same people (polyphony digital) who created gran turismo (in my opinion, a groundbreaking sim. game which has paved the way for most racers today), and tourist trophy looks to do the same for bikes.
