You'd think that in an industry that has once again come to embrace simple gameplay, the Dynasty Warriors games would have garnered more acclaim than they have done. KOEI's modern take on an old formula is a shrewd one; stripped down to the bare bones, their games are little more than arcade button-bashers, but clever use of the hardware has allowed them to masquerade as grand, epic hack 'n' slash feasts. And yet, the steady flow of spin-offs and sequels have seen the 'Warriors' games hit rock-bottom with the critics, whose near-hatred of the series seems difficult to fathom. Is Warriors Orochi (WO) similar to the series last outing? Yes, but then what sequels ...
