To be perfectly honest, I never liked THQ's Smackdown wrestling series. If anybody knows the StarSoldier well, I always preferred some of the older N64 games like WWF No Mercy and WCW/NWO Revenge to these games; in fact, it has been a darn good reason why I still have my old Nintendo 64 around the apartment. Sadly, the N64 is quite dead and wrestling fans need to move on, so here we have Smackdown 4: 'Shut your month' for the Playstation2. Smackdown 4 boosts a massive line up of characters, a larger one player game with real WWE story lines, and it even has better Create a Wrestler options. Can this Smackdown game change my mind on these video games or is it another year ... Read the complete review

'WWE Smack Down! Shut Your Mouth' is the latest offering for the PS2 from the world of the WWE - and like it's televised counterpart, this game offers a complete escape from reality and hours of fun. The game contains just about every current WWE wrestler you can think of - male and female, and allows you to choose any of these in your matches. There's no stopping you from putting Vince and Stephanie McMahon against each other in the ring, or the huge Rikishi against the feisty Lita! Each of the superstars takes their own characteristics to the ring, and performs the same moves you see on TV, right down to their Smack Down finishing moves. ... Read the complete review

You definitely do not have to be a fan of WWE to enjoy this excellent fighting game, it does help a bit in the understanding of some of the storylines that run through the game but it is not a real requirement and the fact that I have maybe watched the wrestling programme only a handful of times did not disadvantage me or reduce my enjoyment of the game. What I especially liked about this game is the fact that it is packed with loads of features which gives it a good amount of replay action to it and it is certainly a game that I have never really got tired of playing. One of the features I especially liked is the ability to create your own wrestler and you ... Read the complete review

wwe Smackdown 4! yes there have been that many!!! This Is the second smackdown to appear on PS2 and may I say It Is a big, (Not major as I'll get too later) improvement over just bring It. Graphically It looks more realistic than SD3 though not by much. They went to town on the entrances but not all the wrestlers themes are the right ones. Like Mavens for instance which Is a small complaint I know but for a purist It slightly annoys. They are more than 40 WWE superstars to play as from the start, with room for more when or If you decide to create some. Gameplay and controls are sort of the same as SD3 except there is more double team moves and interaction ... Read the complete review

THQ and Yukes Return with their 4th installment in the SD franchise... WWE SMACKDOWN:SHUT YOUR MOUTH! The controls are basicly the same as the past Smackdown games. You have a punch/kick button (X), a grapple button (O), a run button (Triangle) and a counter button (Square). This time graphics are much more improved than Just Bring It and the wrestlers still look realistic. This time there are more wrestlers. Some new to the franchise like Hulk Hogan and Rob Van Dam and there are some still here like The Rock and HHH. This time arenas look much more detailed and each has an individual purpose. The Story is so much longer in this ... Read the complete review
