wwe Smackdown 4! yes there have been that many!!!

This Is the second smackdown to appear on PS2 and may I say It Is a big, (Not major as I'll get too later) improvement over just bring It. Graphically It looks more realistic than SD3 though not by much. They went to town on the entrances but not all the wrestlers themes are the right ones. Like Mavens for instance which Is a small complaint I know but for a purist It slightly annoys. They are more than 40 WWE superstars to play as from the start, with room for more when or If you decide to create some. Gameplay and controls are sort of the same as SD3 except there is more double team moves and interaction with weapons, such as putting a bin on their heads and smacking them or hitting them in the stomach with a chair and using a smackdown move. Also If you have enough smackdown icons lit you can use your opponents finisher against them. One thing that did bug me in SD3 was trying to face different opponents in matches. In this they have SLLLLLLLLIGHTLY!!! improved this fault by if an opponent hits you but your not facing him It will automatically turn you around, which helps.

Games modes......................where to begin....................ahhh. Well let me start by saying there Is a truck load. From exhibition you can have single,(with or without managers or refs.) triple threats, 4-ways,5-ways, 6 man tags, hardcore, survival, royal rumble, (Always a personal fav of mine.) king of the ring or special. Special consists of things like T.L.C. lumberjack,tables and hell in the cell. And then we get to season mode...........This was a major dissappointment for me in SD3 where you could have upto a maximum of 3 matches in a season. In SD4 It lasts alot longer. First of all you pick you wrestler. Not all the wrestlers you get in exhibition are available straight away in the season but when you start to go through and win at the PPV's you can unlock extras like the arenas,wrestlers and create par
ts for your own wrestling freak. After you've picked your wrestler you decide what brand to go to RAW or SMACKDOWN. Then you can either skip the draft or watch then edit It to how you like. Then the season begins.

Now the season acts like what you see on t.v. with Ric flair and Vince Mcmahon fighting to see whos the best. You can help them out or as I did in my first season stab vince in the back in a huge doublecross, ask for title matches which to be honest It's rare they'll grant you shots because they always say they are busy. You can wander around backstage, find other wrestlers talk to them, go to the world which no mater what part of the world your in at the time is only a subway train away. HHHhhhhhhmmmmmmmmm. A typical season lasts two years but anything you unlock can be saved and used later. Oh and in the season you can be fired or go make a movie If you feel that way inclined. the bad thing about season mode and It may just be me being picky but when one or the other owners lose control I don't expect them to still be battling at the shows. It's like "You lost go away!!! You can't make decisions anymore."

One more thing to mention Is the create a superstar mode. THIS IS HUGE!!!!!!! they really(And I do mean really.) went to town on this. Every part of the wrestler you can change, including face structure, legs arms the whole thing. Even make your your animations of taunts If you wanted. They have a huge move list which you can preview with more to unlock as you go through season mode.

Smackdown Is a big game which If your a fan of WWE you'll love but even If your not a fan I do surgest you check It out because It's a decent beat 'em up
