When I was walking through the busy market of Studley last year looking for some bargains, I noticed this wrestling game. I don't usually buy electrical goods or games or any form of music from car boot sales, but this game really caught my eye. .. Its bad it really is - Wrestling fans have the reputation of being geeks, hell its one of those hobbies that people just laugh at - you want to know how bad it is? When you go and buy the latest Wrestling Game from your local computer game store its better to pretend its a present for your non-existent young son than to admit its for yourself. Smackdown vs raw 2006 is a wrestling game, involving the two large brands in wrestling entertainment, the "smackdown" brand and the "raw" brand. Each brand has its own set of fighters, and there are some wrestlers that do not belong to either brand (these are the "legendary" wrestlers, such as the rock, and hollywood hulk hogan). The brand of the wrestler doesn't really make a difference unless you play the campaign mode, and if you are a raw wrestler, you play the raw campagin, and vice versa. Year upon year THQ pulls out another WWE title, each one supposedly surpassing the previous year and in general this is the case. Real wrestling fans often argue that they still haven't gone anywhere near in producing a 'REAL WWE' match, but like all sports related games realism often has to play second fiddle to gameplay. However with the release of Smackdown vs Raw 2006, it seems for once a lot of effort has been made at creating something more than a yearly update. THQ and Yukes return with Smackdown vs Raw 2006. This time it's Bigger, Better and greater looking than any wrestling game avalible. The Controls are pretty much the same as SD vs Raw but some moves have been added and controls have been changed like the irish whip. But you won't be too upset about them changes. This time story mode is longer and has voice over, even for Create a wrestlers and some legends can be playable in Season mode. The GM's in Season mode are Theadore Long and Eric Bischoff.
