Advantages: easy to play
Disadvantages: none
I am not a fan of wrestling and have never really watched it although I am a big fan of THQ's wrestling game series SmackDown. This game is the eighth in the series and was released at the end of 2006.
The game itself is basically just an upgrade to the previous instalments with new match types, new areas and updated wrestlers to play as, also some new moves. Each wrestler has there own unique main move known as a SmackDown. As in the other games you have to unlock wrestlers as you go along and you unlock some from past times, you can also create your own wrestler. The main part of the game is the story mode where you select a wrestler and play through his career trying to win more championships and belts., or if you prefer you can just select a wrestler and a fight type and have a quick match. You can play against the computer or against your friends.
The game is a pretty decent improvement on the last game the graphics have been improved and the level of detail is high although at times the camera angle can suddenly switch leaving you confused for a second or so.
A good game that is not just aimed at wrestling fans, anybody that likes a good action or fighting game should like this even like me you know nothing about wrestling. The game has also been released for the Xbox 360 and Playstation Portable.
Summary: fun and easy to play
