1997. The first time I ever set eyes on the WWE (Then known as the WWF) franchise. The World Wrestling Entertainment is bascially a bunch of highly skilled men and women in the career of entertainment wrestling. Their prize, to be the WWE Champion. Every single fan has their own favourite star, duo and group of wrestlers. No matter who you are, you will know someone who has a secret obession to WWE, you don't have to be a teenager. It has been found that WWE is watched by many walks of life from OAP's to working professionals. Watching it is a fantastic way to kick back and let professional wrestlers do the most fantastic moves, follow exciting story lines and see their ... Read the complete review

The Smackdown vs Raw series began very promisingly indeed, although it's sadly gotten "EA syndrome", where there's not really much different betwen each outing as sadly, they're too into the habit of making sure they get a new title out every year without innovating or focusing on how to enhance the gameplay. Also, is there enough change in the wrestling world to really warrant a game every year? Much like the FIFA games, they'll fiddle around with "new" gameplay features to try and justify you spending more money, but sadly, it's too much of the same. That said, it is impressive from a visual standpoint. SVR '09 changes only a small things ... Read the complete review

Smackdown vs Raw 2009 is the WWE's latest wrestling game out. The game comes with new improvements such as change of game play along with the tag team match in the game made much better. The legend superstars on the other hand got removed from the game along with the GM Mode. I just do not understand why though as they have got enough memory on the game disc to contain data for both.THQ are just taking our money out it seems and getting rid of out favourite modes in the game. Well the game it self has been a success if you ask me.Unlike last year the game has improved so much this time around. The game play has been changed making it easier to play ... This is the latest instalment of what has proved a very successful series for THQ and is packed with the usual thrills and spills which have become synonymous with it's Smackdown brand. This latest version offers some new features including tag team team finishers which allows for some bone crunching moves to be employed. In one player mode this wrestling game is fun giving you a wide variety of characters to choose from, each with their own particular strengths and weaknesses, but always with many moves. Gameplay is slick, moves are fairly easy to pull off, there is a certain amount of button bashing with grapples but this is not something to worry about. To ... Read the complete review

As a massive WWE fan I was always going to buy Smackdown vs Raw 2009 no matter what. I have all the other WWE games and 2009's version is by far the best. Unlike other WWE games this one concentrates on tag team wrestling. Whether you start with the great DX or start a new tag team it all starts with you trying to make your way to Wrestlemania. The choice of wrestler is huge since the game features characters from Raw, Smackdown and ECW. A word of warning though the game is easier when you start with a better wrestler like The Undertaker, Triple H or Undertaker rather than a midcarder like Santino Marella. All the usual types of matches are featured ... Read the complete review
