... Revenge allowing people like Diamond Dalls Page to do his Diamond Cutter from the middle of the ring or the turnbuckle. The WWF at the time used them quite a lot such as the Rock using The Rock Bottom and The Peoples Elbow though many wrestlers seemed to be without need for them in the game it was still nice to see it added. The commentary however was diabolical, it would have been better off left out altogether as it seemed broken and never seemed related to what was actually going on in the ring. A shame though I do app...more

Premium Review WWF Smackdown: Just Bring It (PS2): smackdown: just bring it review (155 words)

I really liked this game, it had a good season mode and a variety of different game play modes including hardcore matches etc. The controls are easy to remember and there is also an element of comedy involved when hitting people with trash cans etc. Although this may just be me finding this funny. For an early PS2 game it had good graphics and was one of the first to really put effort into the background. With entrances being portrayed well and the wrestlers themselves being great for attitude they gave in the ring and their moves. All the usual superstars are included like the rock, stonce cold steve austin, bigshow, undertaker, kane etc. Another good ...  Read the complete review

When I first got my PS2 all those years back my first three games were Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3, Grand Theft Auto 3 and Smackdown! Just Bring It (the third in the Smackdown series funnily enough). Released in November of 2001 (so I'm guessing I must have gotten the console in December of that year) the game was the first PS2 version of the Smackdown series by THQ, and the third WWF game by THQ for the Playstation systems in totally (their sixth home console WWF game behind WWF Wrestlemania 2000 (N64), WWF No Mercy (N64), WWF Royal Rumble (Dreamcast) and the first 2 Smackdown games). With the step up in processing power I myself was hoping for a huge step up from ...  Read the complete review

I remember when I was growing up, and there was nothing I liked better then to watch Wrestling in the Evening. I used to love it, I watched things like Monday night Raw and all the Main events such as Royal Rumble and Survivor Series etc. Now I’m not that keen on it but still watch it if its on. But When I was a kid I had the Figures and everything, I even had a few games on the Mega Drive. But they weren’t that good, the graphics were lame and the moves you could pull off were minimum. I always wanted a decent Wrestling game so I could simulate the matches. Well Last year once I bought my Playstation 2 and Smackdown (Bring it On) came out I had to ...  Read the complete review

Does This Game Lay the SMACKDOWN? (722 words)

"Smackdown:Just Bring It" is the first WWF wrestling game to be released for the playstation 2 and is the third game in the very popular Smackdown series although both of the previous games were only released for the Playstation 1 console. In this review i`ll break the game down into different categories giving them sub scores then finally summarising the game at the end with it`s overall score. GAMEPLAY: The first thing you'll notice is the pace of the action. Whether you're in a Singles Match, Tag-Team Match, Battle Royal, or Royal Rumble, the hits come fast. You'll notice that more grapples will happen in each match of ...  Read the complete review

The continuing success of wrestling titles over the years suggests that a fairly large number of video game fans enjoy watching the WWF on television and are willing to pay out for the chance to replicate the experience in their own homes. However, the games themselves have failed to transcend the wrestling genre to become the definitive beat-'em-up titles of the era - mainsteam fans preferred Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat on the 16-bit machines, and Tekken and its ilk when 32-bit consoles were released. WWF Smackdown Just Bring It promised to be the first wrestling game with enough appeal to make it into the homes of the non-wrestling PlayStation 2 owner. Does ...  Read the complete review

Huge list of features, wrestlers, modes, and butt kissing storylines. The controls are better but could still use some work.
