... I have said in other reviews of games, for me what makes a great game is choice. Take an open world game such as Elder Scrolls, and therein lies the <current> extreme of freedom and choice. Grand Theft Auto series style follow - Go almost anywhere, enter a set number of buildings etc. So to take Uncharted, and you essentially have a platform game. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - Game of the Year Edition (PS3) ... switch in platform always brings about it an element of surprise. When I switched from Mega-Drive to PS2, Grand Theft Auto 3 blew me away. The same occurred on the PS3 with Oblivion. I struggled somewhat with the tutorial mission (it is set in a dungeon / cave network / sewer system); I only really delved into the pound-enemy-with-sword method of play. It was too dark, my torch kept running out and disappearing when I whipped my weapon out. I kept getting lost (map? What map?). There were some very complicated leveling decisions, which I didn t get and worried that I made the wrong decision for the rest of my game. I wasn t enjoying it as much as I hoped and wonde... Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures (PS3) ... m a big fan of the Lego series of video games - they take a popular film franchise (in this case Indiana Jones ), and recreate the entire adventure as a comedic puzzler created from (virtual) plastic bricks. As i m currently waiting for a suggestion to come through for Lego Indiana Jones 2 , I thought I would revisit the first game, and explain what made it so playable. Indiana Jones was the second outing in video game form for the Lego franchise after Lego Star Wars - and if you ve played the latter then you ll know exactly what to expect. Assassin's Creed (PS3) ... is a very confusing game and made me not want to play after only owning for a couple of days. The graphics are no becoming a norm as they are great for most ps3 games, I loved exploring the towns and completing the missions were fun for a while but to me the story did not make too much sense. After a while it felt like all the missions were completely identical, I think you d notice this after level 3. The gameplay is also a big negative which puts this game down even further. I found the cmbat system to this game too simple, as in it was too easy to kill the enemies which doesnt require you to plan your attack, you may aswell not use the stealth attack as you can r...
