Need For Speed: Shift (PS3) ... this game I can barely believe that is is Need for Speed. This is quite the departure from the games before it and we benefit as a result. The game has received a considerable overhaul. As superficial as this is, UI have to say that this games graphics knocked my socks off. I was very impressed. The cars and tracks are resplendent in golrious high definition. The mesmerising visuals and admirable engine sounds draw you into the racing world and make for thrilling visceral experience. Colin McRae: Dirt 2 (PS3) ... fantastic driving simulator! There are several different driving experiences from rally-cross to landrush. The way in which new races are unlocked means that you go between these modes constantly which I found keeps you on your toes as the vehicle types have different driving styles. The graphics are outstanding with realistic damage, environment and multi-angled replays. There is also a great feature which rewinds time and allows you to retry a section if you bury your bumper into a wall. Each race earns you money, points and respect from the real life petrol heads and nothing feels better than crossing the line sideways ahead of Ken Block in a head to head challe... Need For Speed Undercover (PS3) ... was a big fan of the Need for Speed : Underground games, back when all you had to do was get to the starting point and then race. There was no story and there was no running away from the cops every five minutes. After Need for Speed : Underground 2 I stopped playing these games. because it moved away from the original idea of the game and because the far better Juiced was on the market.
