Baja: Edge of Control (PS3) ... review is for Baja - Edge of Control, an off-road driving game for the Playstation III. The concept of the game is easy, drive your vehicle around tracks as quickly as possibly, win races, progress through the game, try different tracks and win more trophies. It s a well worn style of gaming and so there s a lot of similar games in this genre. You start the game driving in the desert, but you progress through to other backgrounds such as woodlands and frozen lands. The first problem with this game, especially for a games players such as myself who are not the most natural players in the world, is that it is just too difficult. Colin McRae: DIRT (PS3) ... ve never been a fan of driving games. They always did my head in because i couldn t get the hang of it and i could never come first. Even in Grand Theft Auto, on the missions where you had to race, i hated them and avoided them if i could. BUT since i ve had my PS3 i ve downloaded about 10 different driving game demos (motorstorm, Dirt, F1, Burnout Paradise, Need for speed pro street etc). Out of them all, two appealed most. Dirt and Motorstorm. Two very different games. Motorstorm is mostly set in the desert in the USA, with a huge variety of vehicles (trucks, bikes, large rigs, buggies, cars etc), a banging sound-track and forgiving game-play (if you go off the track ... Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (PS3) ... is only a Prologue but the game does what it is designed to do...make you want the full game. This game does not seem like a demo as its far better that what was expected of the gran turismo, its is very harsh calling this game a demo as the name states that. Only having 6 tracks to race on is a little disappointing but trying to complete all of the classes C-S and all the manufacturer events takes quite a while. But I guess everything that they have done in this game is only a taster and well makes you want to buy the full game. This game is definitely more than a demo.
