Advantages: Great graphics, amazing storyline, lots to collect, lots of longevity

Disadvantages: Can't think of any

Few games have the backstory, or the atmospheric feel of a good book, but I think Bioshock might just have something special here. You start of in a plane, and crash into the ocean. Taking refuge in a strange building, sat in the middle of the ocean, you find an elevator type thing, and accidentally stumble upon an entire city, built underwater, called Rapture. Turn's out this place was created for mis-understood scientists types etc. who just wanted to experiment without the limitations of human rights/laws etc. Unfortunately it looks like things turned nasty a while back, and Rapture is now home to some pretty eery enemies lurking about.

Armed with a weapon of your choice, and several 'special powers' that you receive using things called plasmid's and charged using Eve, the weapon system is pretty damn awesome. You can set enemies on fire with a flick or your wrist, or choose to use a combination of attacks such as freezing them and then chiselling away at them using a hammer.

The story is amazing, and the graphics, which are decent, provide an eery atmospheric backdrop for a game that won't be forgotten anytime soon. Enemies are varied and theres allot of them! The art-deco/retro futurism styles used throughout the game are fascinating when coupled with the rusty underwater structures of Rapture and I loved just looking around and exploring!

There's plenty to collect throughout the game, including tape recorded diaries which provide some more details to the backstory, lots of 'special powers' to collect, money, etc. This all provides some more longevity to the game, which already boats around a 10 hour playtime.

Summary: An absolute blockbuster of a game
