Advantages: Single player is fun, COD4 engine
Disadvantages: Very short, multiplayer is not very good, wrong plot
Quantum of Solace is the newest James Bond video game, released on all platforms.
When I heard that the engine being used for this game was the same as Call of Duty 4, it definitely made it sound more promising and the game did deliver on the gameplay aspect because of this. It feels like COD4 at times but there is also the addition of the third person cover system which isn't 100% reliable but is certainly useful, like in the Rainbow Six Vegas series. Aiming is smooth and accurate and there are a variety of common weapons that you'll recognise.
In terms of graphics, Quantum of Solace is very average. There isn't enough detail to really impress you and sometimes comes accross a little bland and simple. When you compare it to games like BioShock and Killzone 2, it almost seems lazy. They are still decent though and won't put you off the game.
The biggest let down of this game is the length of the campaign. It's literally 4-5 hours long and that's not really acceptable. It was very disappointing to come to the end when I thought it was only about half way done.
If you're a Bond fan then the storyline will disappoint you because even though it's called Quantum of Solace, it's mainly based on the Casino Royale plot. I'm guessing this was mainly due to the fact that it was a more exciting, action-based movie.
There is also a multiplyer with standard playlists but it really won't hold your attention for long. The single player is much better than the multiplayer in my opinion.
Summary: I would recommend renting it or buying it if you can find it cheap
