Advantages: Plenty to do and a great online mode.

Disadvantages: Talk about milking the cash cow

I bought this game about a year ago from the playstation network. I played it a bit but wasnt very impressed. Being a fan of the gran turismo series I just felt it was a bit too arcadey.
I didnt play it for months and only picked it up again because my 3 year old boy is mad on bikes and he loves riding around pulling wheelies and doing donuts (hes got a ps2 controller with the lead cut off so he thinks hes playing!!! top tip there dads) and I have to say I have completely changed my mind.

You start with a standard stunt car and win new ones by completing races, stunt challenges, point to point timed races and various other challenges. What really did it for me is the sheer speed of the bikes, its mindblowing. The scenery blurs by as you weave through traffic, jump off ramps and pull wheelies. Take it online and you can have up to 8 of you completing challenges. Either as a team effort such as trying to jump over each other or point to point races.
I then started playing the cars, as you advance you get better and better vehicles and the speed is incredible. Think fast and furious. The cars look great and there are some real whacked out models like the munsters style hot rod. Online mode is good too. Its very well thought out and the challenges are good fun though I do much prefer the bikes.

The map is huge and itl take you a long time to suss out all those short cuts and find all the super jumps, billboards and gates. Then theres the trophys.
The graphics are 1st class and there plenty of songs to listen to as you thrash around the city. Though I must admit im getting pretty fed up with GnR`s paradise city track!

You may note that this game isnt a year old but this version is basically the original burnout paradise but with all the free DLC (bikes, day/night cycle) and therefore if you have your ps3 online, buy the old one, download all the free stuff and save yourself a few quid.
